My husband is a former Marine. I did not think to include his DD214 with our application for him. Should I make a copy and when I get a file number send that in?
Is that something that would be requested later?
Does anyone know about this?

Thanks for any insight !

They want to know if the applicant has served in the military. Once you get a file number I would send in a corrected form and an explanation to be added to his file.

I know we listed his Military experience on the application but since there was nothing asking for his DD214 we
did not think to include that.

I will send them a photocopy of that form as soon as I get the file number.

Thanks for the help

Please keep this post updated on your experience, if you can. There are no other posts on this website about prior US military applicants and their experiences. I will also be submitting an application in for PR as a sponsored spouse, with military service in the US. I will be attaching my DD214 and some of my personnel records to help them better understand my military career and timeline.

In hindsight, I would have attached the file , so your already a step up on that from me.

Anything I find out , I will post in here. ;D

Gonzo,

The prior military did not seem to create any extra processing time that I can
tell.
The entire process from start to finish took 7 1/2 months.

We did send in that DD214 once we got the file number but not all the records.
They did not request any further documentation.
:)
