I would like to know if it is mandatory for some one who is divorced and married again to disclose any information about their previous marriage to the CIC/CHC.

I think so. This is what is expected -

Birth, marriage, final divorce, annulment or separation certificates for you and your spouse or common-law partner

YES.

Hmm-so how do you update CIO Sydney if you forgot to mention that in the form?

Keep quiet on it & take the benefit of doubt.

Qorax

Ps.: Just a personal opinion though... W/out any consideration to the rules, effect & morality.

Qorax,

Thanks for your response.

I am not sure if this should affect my application so early in the process. How does one typically identify CIO about corrections on the form. Is there another form to assist with this process?

Regards,

It doesn't matter to CIO. If you get approved to submit the full application, make the correction on the forms, and write a cover letter explaining the change. It is the local CHC that does the background and security checks.

Gotcha...thanks.

Thank you so much for your valuable info, but I doubt what does that has to do with PR application and is there any way the CHC can find out if you don't disclose it.

Never hide or misrepresent any information to cic/chc, especially when they have a field in the application just for this. They have ways of finding out during background checks. You may end up being barred or rejected for this reason. Why would you want to hide this information anyway?

How can you miss this info.? It's like missing to put your child's name on the form. I don't think the chc would buy this so easily. Anyways if you have missed it in the initial app. to cic, then do send it to chc with the complete documentation.

Ha, yukon, if you haven't seen your ex-spouse in 10 or more years, and they have no relevance for your current life, it's very easy to forget. Dredging up your life's history since you were 18 is very different for someone who is 25 and someone who is 50...
