PREVIOUS MARRIAGE DATE

We are preparing our application now and have some questions.

I have a previous marriage (married in Feb 2014, separated and came to Canada September 2014, signed the divorce papers in May 2016)

Now my question is
1 - In my formularies, they ask information about previous relationships and the dates.
I was married, but was I still 'married' even after we separated? For example, in the previous relationship date, should I say married FROM 08 FEB 2014 TO 13 SEP 2014 (separation date), or FROM 08 FEB 2014 TO 13 MAY 2016 (divorce date).

what I did is, I wrote the date we got married until the date of separation. There is one question in sponsor questionnaire #17 about the lengthof relationship and I wrote there from date of marriage and separation and the date of divorce.

Is it a red flag to cic if there had been a previous marriage, separated and in less than 1 year entered into conjugal relationship?
