Pregnant and Alone

I recently got separated from my Husband. I’m pregnant with my first child and all alone here. I’m thinking to apply for my mother’s visit visa as the time for delivery comes.
My mother is a housewife but she has strong ties back home as my siblings are young and dependent on her.
I’m thinking to keep her with me for 6 months. What’re the odds of her Visa getting accepted?

If you mention a newborn baby as your mother's reason of visit, it will be denied. Your mother caring for your newborn would be considered illegal work in Canada.

If your siblings are "young and dependent on her", how will she be able to stay for more than a couple of weeks?
Being able to stay for 6 months contradicts that assertion.

Does she have a house/property in her name? That can be a strong home tie.
She would have to show some financial support of her own.
I am assuming she does have a travel history (UK, US or Europe), so she would have to have a strong of purpose of travel.

Also, just reiterating what has already been said, do not mention that your mother wants to take of you and your baby. That is seen as illegal work.

You can give an invitation letter saying she wants to visit her daughter (you).

Yeah that’s what I read on the forum. I’ll be going thru my divorce as well. I was thinking to write I need her for moral support. Do you think that’s acceptable?

Is it necessary that she only stays for the time I’ve mentioned in the visa? Can she stay for long?

Yes, she does have a house in her name. About financial support, can she show funds in my father’s name?
She doesn’t have any travel history to any of these places. But yes, we have lived in the Middle East in the past.
Do you think mentioning that I need her for moral support will also get it rejected?
I just want to make 100% sure that her visa gets accepted in anyway possible.

Her house would be a strong home tie.
And she can also write a cover letter from her side (you can do everything on her behalf) and upload in "client info" section, stating the her other dependent children would be taken care by their father until she's with you.

You can mention the moral support thing, since you are alone and need someone to be with you but not the baby-delivery for now, as believe me people have seen rejections in past due to that.

For travel history you would have to anyways mention any travel history she might have had in past, but mostly what they look for is US/UK/Europe. But anyways you would have to scan and upload any travels in past.

Does she have a joint bank account with her husband, that would work? If not, if I were you, I'd put the father's bank statement, a cover letter and the parent's marriage certificate and hope it works.

1. Financial Support
2. Home ties
3. Purpose of travel

Are some of the most important things a VO would look for in a file.

Thank you for detailed response. I was thinking to get vfs help in filling the forms. I’ll keep the letter thing in mind.
My mother does have a joint account with my father. How much funds minimum should be in that account?

That is up to the CBSA officer at the Port of Entry. They may decide only to grant a short visit, even if a visa is issued.
