My husband and I ( principle applicant) submitted PNP(NB) application in May and hadn't received anything back. I found my pregnancy yesterday( not even 1 month). It is an accident but we are so happy about it.
I really don't want any delay of my process, it is a horrible waiting.....I have no idea about what's gonna happen and what to do.I might not receive my medical exam request before I have the baby born, but I am pretty sure I can't do X-ray at the time i receive the medical test request.
Do I have to notify PNP office now? What's gonna happen if I notify the PNP office? What's the best way to handle this accident?

Hi Nancy, I am in the same boat as you except I submitted my application back in March 2012, I have been waiting 16 months for my PR already as I am one of those 'forgotten applicants' you have probably heard about. Anyway I got pregnant in January of this year and have been delaying telling them in case it slowed down them processing my application even further. However my PNP case worker here locally (I'm in Newfoundland) contacted me last week to see how I was doing. I told her I was pregnant and she said I should definitely tell them as it may hurry them up a little. So I wrote to them last week to inform them I am almost 7 months pregnant and due in October. I haven't had any response yet but I will keep you posted. I do hope it hasn't held my application up in anyway. I had already done my medical but was worried I was going to be asked for another one as it has now expired. When I asked my case worker about this she said that you wouldn't fail the medical in anyway if you are pregnant, its just your choice whether you want to go ahead with the x-ray or not. I believe there is a very small risk to the baby. Anyway keep me posted on your situation if you don't mind, I am interested to know.

Hi!
This happened to me last year, I got pregnant after submitting my MPNP application. I was still pregnant when I got my nomination and submitted my VISA application to CIO NS on Aug 2012. I gave birth on Oct 2012 and and I waited for the notification that the VISA office has received my application before I informed them of my new born on Nov 2012. Then the VISA office asked me to submit my baby's birth certificate, passport photo and updated generic application form and application fee for my new born.
From my understanding, we should only notify them when the family composition has already changed, that is, after the baby is born. But maybe there's no harm to let them know you're expecting so they can already advise you what to do and you can do it as soon as the baby is born.

Just to add that i also thought it would affect my medical check up but it turned out that visa processing is very slow in Singapore visa office so up to now I am still waiting for medical request. It has already been 10 months since i submitted my visa application. So I think for your case too you may already have given birth before you get a medical request.

Yes it applies to common law partner too. You have to inform them after the birth of the baby.
