PRC renewal while waiting on citizenship application

Does the citizenship application get affected if I apply for PR card renewal while it's in progress. Its been almost 11 months since I applied for citizenship and waiting after the citizenship test. Now in next 3 months my PR card will expire and I am not sure if I will get my citizenship by then. So I'm thinking of getting the PR card renewed, however I am not sure if my PR card renewal application will have any effect on the citizenship application in terms of time lines or otherwise.

PR card expire does not invalidate your PR status.
If you need to travel outside of Canada only then you need to renew your PR card
