PR Visa for spouse

Hi,
I have applied for Canada PR Visa through express entry from one of visa consultants in Bangalore - India.

Currently I am unmarried. And only I have applied for PR Visa.
If i get married in a couple of months, should i be applying for a a pr visa for my wife separately. Or she would be given a dependent visa.

My consultant says that, she would be given a dependent visa and she is eligible to have all the benefits of a pr visa holder. Like - study, full time work etc.

Wanted to confirm what my consultant says is true?

Once you get married, you will have to notify IRCC (CIC) of your marriage and they will ask for her medical and pcc later on in the process and she will land with you as any other pr holder.
