Hi Team!
Me an wife are Canada PR holders who did a soft landing in Mar2020 just before the lockdowns and returned to India. Our PR cards have also been issued and rcvd by us. Now, however, we are pregnant and want to deliver the baby in India. We plan on migrating to Canada with the baby in Jan2022 now.
A few Qs-
1. Can we, as Canada PR holders get entry into Canada with our new born (even though the new born does not have a Canada PR/citizen status)?
If yes, then is there a documentation needed for that?
If this is indeed possible, can we sponsor our new born 's PR once we enter Canada in Jan22?
2. If the above case is not possible, then what are the alternatives?
I have gone through the earlier comments on the posts here and am not sure if I understood correctly.... Hence this specific Q... Sry if repeated
You need to obtain a TRV for your baby to be able to bring th baby to Canada. Thereis no guarantee the TRV will be approved. Probably a 50/50 chance. If the TRV is refused, you can try applying for a TRP. If that is also refused, then one of the parents will have to move to Canada ahead of the rest of the family to sponsor the child for PR. That parent must remain in Canada while the application is processed. Once PR is approved, the child will be able to come to Canada. Processing of the application will likely take around 8 months. So the short answer is that if you have the baby outside of Canada, there's a chance one of the parents may have to live separately from the rest of the family for a better part of a year to obtain PR status for the child and allow the child to come to Canada.

I sent my Baby PR application by mail and delivered October 20, 2020 but yet not received any email from IRCC.
I cannot advise how long you need to wait but even in normal times 11 days would be pretty optimisitic.. With the pandemic processing times are significantly extended so you just need to be patient, could be a few months before you hear anything at all there is no way to predict.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do but wait. TRV processing time is quite slow right now due to COVID-19 and many who applied much earlier this year are still waiting.

Note that there's generally a 50/50 chance of TRV approvals in these types of cases. If the TRV is not approved, one of you will have to move to Canada ahead of the rest of the family and sponsor the child for PR. Once the PR application is approved, your child and the other parent will then be able to travel to Canada.

Hopefully the TRV will be approved and you can all travel to Canada together. Good luck.
Hi
Father and mother are PR holders but baby is not.
Mother and baby live in India

Should both the father and mother(Co signer) be present in Canada to sponser a depended baby?

I never heard people submitted document of consent except if one parent is traveling with a child.

HI if you did not Co sign for the application
Did u attached any justification as to why u did not Co sign.
Because they demand documents such as IMM5604 (Declaration from Non-Accompanying parent or guardian for minors immigrating to canada
Or divorce or death etc.
But did u attach anything to justify that u have PR and u will accompany ur baby later after the baby gets PR?

You can include an explanation indicating that your spouse will be accompanying your child when they receive PR. Will your spouse still meet their RO?

Hi,

I'm in a similar situation that most of the members posted in this thread. I could see getting help from @canuck_in_uk, @canuck78 and @scylla. But none of the members is sharing their experience as to how they processed, what was the procedure, the timeline was. It would really he even if any of the requestors have posted their experience once the child got his/her PR or Citizenship.

The family sponsorship forum here has a few threads about sponsoring dependent children and members sharing their experiences:

Thank You @armoured for guiding me to the thread. I hope I should be able to find answers to my queries. However, I'm posting my queries here too so I can expect replies from some active VIP members.

"Hi,

I'm an Indian, residing and UAE with my family. I'm in a situation where most members are here in this Thread. My wife, my son and myself, all three have CoPR and my wife is now pregnant.

1. Our CoPR expires on 28th May 2022.
2. We are flying to Canada on 29th April 2022, doing the landing and be back in UAE by 3rd June 2022.
3. My wife is expected to deliver by the 1st Week of Nov 2022 (Either in India or in UAE).
4. My Business obligations in UAE get completed by August 2023.
5. Shall move permanently to Canada by Sep 2023.

It was mentioned in the forum that the newborn won't be able to get PR and should be sponsored. In that case, I would like to get some inputs for the following.

1. When should I start the sponsorship application, provided I have plans to settle in Canada by Aug 2023 (or earlier)?
2. What's the validity of this sponsor visa. Until how long should I be sponsoring the baby?
3. Will the baby be getting the benefits such as Free medical, schooling & CCB?
4. How & When can the Newborn attain the status of PR or a citizen?
5. While applying for our Citizenship, can we also apply for the baby?

Appreciate it if all five queries can be answered and It would be great if someone can share their experience alongside the procedure for sponsoring the child."

1. You must be in Canada and compliant with your RO to sponsor your child.
2. You can try to get a TRV for the baby. If denied a TRV you can try for a TRP. If granted the baby should get a 6 month stay that can be extended. If denied one parent will need to come to Canada first and sponsor the baby
3. Access to medical depends on the province but in many provinces no medical coverage until they are a PR. You will need to take out private merge checks medical insurance and pay for any routine care. Yes they will qualify for CCB if they are in Canada,
4. 5-12 months for PR
5. Yes if the baby is a PR first.
