PR Renewal

Hi

My mom's Permanent resident card is expiring in June 2017. However, she wants to travel in the month of February 2017 to Pakistan and come back by March 2017. would it be ok for her to go and come back and then renew it or she should renew her PR card before she leaves?

Any suggestions?

I assume she meets the 2 out of 5 year residency requirement.

She is fine to travel in Feb/March. She can apply to renew her card either before or after her trip.
