PR renewal - wait time question

Hi,

Has anyone else recently renewed their PR card? My PR card is expiring Sept 2012. I filled in my renewal application and sent it in on Feb 21, 2012. I confirmed the Sydney, NS processing centre received it 2 days later (i.e. via the post office tracking).

Now it is May 19 and I have not heard a word. When I try to check online to check the status of my application, it can't find my information.

What should I do? Shouldn't I receive some kind of confirmation by now that processing has started?

I am thinking they may not start processing your application for another month or two because you may have applied "too early". Your current PR card expires in September and unless you have applied for urgent renewal, you may get the new one closer to the expiration date of the current one. It normally take around 2-3 months to receive a new PR, but this should go down to 1-2 months since now most of the renewed cards are being sent by mail.
