PR Renewal related issue

I am a under 18 student with PR card studying in Calgary. My parents are in India. I got PR card in June 2011 and card shows expiry in Sep 2016. However, since I landed in Canada in June 2011, I assume that my 5 years will end in June 2016.

On 25th June 2016, I will be completing 740 days stay in Canada - the day I intend to go to my parents for two months during school break.

I heard that I can travel with my existing PR card and since I was never questioned by Immigration at any stage for my status, can return back in August and then apply for PR card renewal. Do I need to apply for Permanent resident travel document (PRTD) while in India or since I am not a defaulter, there will be no issue while returning ?

since you are coming back before pr card expiry you dont need prtd at this stage.days are calculated backwards from application date
