PR Rejected :(

Friends,

Like a few other posters, my PR application got refused last week due to lack of funds. I find this surprising because I had shown USD13,500 vs. the CAD 12,300 requirement. Yet, they claim that they could only see CAD 8,695 in my account.

I have just raised a CSE with the latest bank statement which shows more funds. Is there a waiting period before which I can re-apply and get into the pool?

Can someone please advise if the following documents are still valid?
1. IELTS - Jan 2017
2. India PCC - April 2017
3. FBI PCC - 31Mar2017
4. Medical - May 2017

Very sorry to hear this buddy, let’s hope something works out in the CSE.

Could you please elaborate on what exactly you had submitted (savings/current account, single/multiple accounts etc) as proof of funds? Maybe it will help someone in similar situation.

1) IELTS score is valid for 2 years.

2/3) PCC won’t be valid for the country you are living in or have visited after these dates (since both are older than 6 months already) If you have not visited the country after the date of PCC, it will be valid.

4) Medical is valid for 1 year but even if you are invited in next draw and you can resubmit your application within 2 weeks, you will only have 5 months left. Maybe senior members can shed more light.

Really bad on hearing about the refusal. Sorry for that. Answers to your questions -

1. IELTS - Jan 2017 - will be valid till January (date) 2019; where date will be date - 1 on which you had given the test.
2. India PCC - April 2017 - will be valid only till October 2017 ~ you need to apply for the fresh one.
3. FBI PCC - 31Mar2017 - will be valid unless and until you don't go to America again till your next application process gets completed.
4. Medical - May 2017 - will be valid till May 2018 but strong suggestion to submit the new one at the time of submission towards new application.

All the best.

Thank you for the detailed feedback. I am still gutted by their decision. I got feedback from the CSE I raised which basically states re-apply :(
I plan to re-apply in Jan 2018 as by then I will have 6 months of bank statement that will exceed the CAD 12,300 requirement without any problem.

However, I am based in the US and traveling to India for 3 weeks towards end of December. Will this create any issues with the FBI PCC?
Also, can I apply for India PCC in India instead of going to Indian consulate here?

For proof of funds, I had provided my 6 months of bank statements (both savings and current from 2 banks). I applied in Sep. 2017 and my balance was over the CAD 12,300 only starting in August. Rest of the months it was around USD9,000. My parents gifted me the difference.
For my next submission, I plan to give a copy of my 401k statements as well just to give additional evidence that I have sufficient money.

After coming back you need to get both PCCs. FBI PCC can be applied before you leave on vacation because it takes 12-14 weeks to process. You need to get India PCC from consulate once you come back.

I am not sure if you can redo medicals if there is an active medical that hasn't expired (one year from medical date). Check this with CIC call center before scheduling another one and spending $$. My guess is you can submit with old medicals as it is and CIC may request another medical after May 2018 when your application is in process.

Sorry to hear about the rejection.
As you mentioned, you will reapply with 6 months statements again. Did you not show the last 6 months statement before ?
It’s advised to get Medical’s done as , by the time he will reapply the medical expiry date would be very close , May 2018.
The money is not an option but the duration of Medical’s matter. They might again ask for new Medical’s.
Better to get it done just before applying again along with new PCC.
Will save lot of time and tensions in the end.

I did show the 6 months of bank statement. However, for 4 months the balance was about USD9,000. For the difference my parents gifted me the amount and wrote a certified signed deed stating that the money was mine and they had no interest in it. So I am still surprised why they said they couldnt see sufficient funds :(

I will try to apply for the FBI PCC before I leave to India.

My profile was rejected too and submitted again on nov 1. There is no timeperiod to reapply. You don't need to wait for a month.
I had shown cad 12,600 and have not shown average balance neither statement. It was bank certificate of standard form for cic including all other details. This might worked because I am inland.
I used old medical and was left with only 4 months validitiy. I fortunately got ppr in 42 days. Even if, it would have taken time, they would have asked to do again.
You got answer for other points.
I will suggest to reapply and send request to reconsider with proofs.

Are you sure it was only about actual funds available or maybe it was beacuse of the format of the documents being uploaded? Simple bank statement may not work without some explanations as per their R10 requirement.

Have you applied again ? Can you update us ?

He didn't post it , but usually it takes anywhere between 30 to 45 days as per current trend for you to pass R10 and for medicals to be cleared.
