Hi All,

I have been in my home country since Feb 2020 and I'm planning to return by end of this year. Can I just buy the ticket and board the plane or do I need to inform CIC or something like that?

Is the PR card or SIN kept on hold? Is there anything I need to ensure after I land?

Also, my card will expire in Jan next year. Since my travel date is close to the PR card expiry, is that going to be an issue?

Thank You!

Border officer might or might not report you, but otherwise you can buy the tickets and good to travel. No need to inform CIC. Wait until you meet your residency obligation for renewal of a new PR card.

Also, my passport just expired and I should get a new one. Does this change anything? I do have my PR card and is it enough to travel back to Canada?

No, it does not change anything.
