I'm in a similar situation. I'm a visitor currently and my status expires on Jan 10. I was hoping to travel on that same day assuming that if I don't get eCOPR by then, I can always print it anywhere and come back via the US border or get a PRTD, however, the IRCC call center, and my lawyer said that you cannot leave the country before your COPR is issued. If you have to, you will need to inform them via web form and they will either hold the issuance of eCOPR or you will need to change the process to outland (PPR) from wherever you are.

So what if my issuance of ecopr is held, i can always enter canada based on my work permit and trv right, since they are still valid.
Yes, you can enter via your TRV if it's valid at the time you're coming back or using your WP if you're coming from the US on foot or via your personal vehicle. It's best to call IRCC to know your options; call around 8 am and provide your number and they will call you back.

If you get eCoPR while outside of Canada you need to contact IRCC immediately. They need to cancel it and you have to come back and it needs to be reissued. Alternatively, you need to ask to be landed abroad. You need to be inside of Canada when virtually landing as inland candidate (else you will have issues when applying for citizenship for example - there are problems with date calculations because the system does not accept being outside of Canada on the day when you became PR etc.)
Unfortunately true. However, a lot of the applicants got FD today! I assume they work on a rotational alternative basis!
I sometimes go back to school days where we used to memorize numbers,historic dates etc. Have typed my UCI, looked up AOR, P1,P2 dates so often that I can relay it back in sleep. Hope this drought will end soon with truck load of eCOPR's soon.
