Hi,

We haven't received our PR cards yet, though we landed since May 6th. We called CIC center and they answered that our application is not processed yet. Any one has similar experience? what are the reasons?

Thank you

Hello Folks , Please help me on this last query ...... I have my PR visa - My question is What is the minimum amount I could carry to canada at the time of landing ? Thanks in Advance.

minimum amount you can carry is 0.01$.
Max is 10,000$.
Anything above 10,000$, you should declare.

Thank you vinay for your reply; I asked because some of ma few friends say that you must carry 9 lacs - the amount which you shown at the time of processing ..... but when I checked with Thomas Cook they say that pof is the amount you must be having @at the time of processing the visa , however , once you have visa then you could carry any number of amount. .....so again I'm planning to carry 5000 $ , will that do????? Please reply in little detailed

You are only a few days over the published processing time. If I were you, I'd wait another week and call again to see if they started processing your cards yet.

I see no reason to worry yet.

For landing as a pr, you need to show (cash/bank draft/travelers cheques/bank statement of funds available, or a combination thereof, etc etc) at least the minimum amount as listed on the CIC site, depending on the number of people In you family (and included in your application.

I landed 7th May 2015 and I got my PRC on 7th August 2015

What your friends say, in my opinion, is misleading. As lammawitch has pointed out, you are good to land if you have AT LEAST the minimum amount mentioned on the link the user has provided. You do not have to carry more than that. If you have more than that, you can carry all of them- Well and good. If you don't, that's fine too but please make sure that you have at least the minimum amount. However, please keep in mind the currency conversion rate fluctuation. You might have the required amount with you but when you land and at that point in time the conversion rate has grown, then you will not have sufficient funds. Careful!
