Hi, I'm about to renew my PR card and i have started filling the application.
I calculated my total absence and it's less than 1095 days. I'm in Canada right now and as of renewal application date, I have more than 730 days of physical residence per my entry/exit stamps I see in my passport.

However, In the checklist IMM5644, I read second checkbox as

"Proof of residency requirements if you were outside of Canada for 1095 days or more in the past five (5) years. Please refer to Appendix A of the
instruction guide for a list of the documents required."

I believe I should not to check it, as im NOT out of canada for 1095 days or more. In that case, how do I prove I stayed more than 730 days in Canada? should I attach photocopies of all pages of my passport for IRCC to validate?. By the way, I checked consent for CBSA and CRA to share the details to IRCC, so, I do not need to submit any supporting documents to prove my residency requirement? IRCC will request themselves entry records from CBSA to calculate my physical presence?

Please suggest. Thanks

I agree that it's somewhat curious as to why IRCC doesn't seem to need any supporting evidence if you have established more than 730 days in Canada, but...the instructions seem clear. You should not need to send anything at all.

Technically...even the CBSA records don't really prove residency. They merely show an entry into Canada (and perhaps an exit from Canada by deducing that an entry record into another country (passenger manifest, for example) only shows movement between countries on that particular day. In my opinion, things that would be seen as `active' evidence (i.e. banking activity showing transactions, purchases in Canada over a span of time) would be of more value to IRCC than `passive' evidence (i.e. Utility bill for a street address where the PR may or may not be residing).

Thanks for the response. I will avoid attaching any documents to prove my canada residence days.

Also, I'm planning to go by online portal. I'm going thru this forum and I read multiple people appears to be having issue with Digital photo uploaded.
Do you suggest to go by paper application? Though processing time perspective, it doesnt make any difference.
I just want to ensure my application not being stuck because of photo issue. Please advise. Thanks.

Sorry, but I can't comment on the myriad photo issues that so many people are having. I seem to recall (somewhere) where applicants were being told that they could take a selfie...which, if true, seems like a very bad idea, given the strict requirements for the photo.
