Thanks for the reply but there are no clear transactions on applying online for PR card and whether it needs notarized copies or not?
If it does not ask for something, do not provide it. If it does not ask for copies of all pages of passport - do not provide it. For notarial copies: only things that are not in English or French in original need translations. (Note that international passports are, to my knowledge, require that the biopage contain English or French versions i.e. 'name' - therefore the biopages do not require translations/notarized copies.)

If it does not ask for notarial stamps on docs that are already in English or French - do not provide.

Do not provide notarial copies and stamps of things they do not ask for.

Thanks for the reply. The reason I directed the message by tagging your message because your replied to my message by tagging it. Your replies seemed very rude to me. If you dont want to reply to anyone's query do not reply just ignore it do not show off how much you know.

I applied for my parents Pr renewal on H&C grounds as they dont meet the residency requirement.

Here is my time line so far:
Applied : 17 October 2024

No update so far. i think the normal processing for H&C is 3-4 months or even more. Please let me know what are the timelines.

It means that this is html code that is not designed or intended to be looked at by public and could have any meaning whatsoever - they do NOT intend for it to be used and hence do not say or imply anywhere that it has any meaning.

If you want to believe something because somebody told you there is an 'inspect tool', go ahead.

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and would greatly appreciate your help and advice.

I am currently facing an issue with meeting the Residency Obligation (RO) for my Permanent Resident (PR) status. I received my PR in 2019 and arrived in Canada on June 22, 2019. I stayed for 788 days before returning to my home country on September 21, 2021.

I recently returned to Canada on November 14, 2024. In the last five years, I have spent a total of 1,143 days outside of Canada. My PR card is set to expire on December 4, 2024. I am seeking guidance on how to renew my PR card under these circumstances.

Will an officer allow me to renew my PR card despite the extra 48 days spent outside Canada? What reasons or documentation can I provide to justify these 48 days? Additionally, what kind of humanitarian and compassionate grounds can I present, and what proof would be required?

If the officer does not allow me to renew my PR card, what are my options? Can I still stay in Canada, or will I need to return to my home country? Should I consider waiting until next year when I meet the RO before applying for renewal - is this option available?

Thank you in advance for your assistance. Please help thanks,

You do not need a valid PR card to stay inside Canada. You simply wait until you meet the days and then apply.

Applying now will invite scrutiny and may start the process of your PR removal

Will I be able to wait until I meet RO, I was unsure about it, ok so it means I will have to stay in Canada until I meet the RO and then can apply for my PR Renewal. I thought I have to apply before expiry date and there's no other option for me now and not meeting the RO officer will reject my application and I will loose the PR status and have to go back thank you so much. ethelstan

This is the only way. Once you reach 730 days - you'll meet the residency obligation. People here talked about buffer - so ideally adding some days so you are not on the nose.

Good luck!

To make this explicit, you can just wait, you are not required to have a valid PR card, you are not in any way breaking any laws, and as long as you remain in Canada and refrain from initiating contact with IRCC - no issue.

In other words, you are just a PR who does not currently have a PR card. That's it. PRs in Canada are not required to have valid PR cards.

The problems arise, potentially, if you leave the country and can't get back or ... apply for a PR card.
