Received COPR in Sep 2017, Did Soft landing
PR Card issue date Oct 2017
Finally landed in Oct 2020(Plan was to move in March 2020 but delayed due to Covid, 1 month short of meeting RO. Stopped at the airport, provided explanation to the officer. Officer mentioned about Humanitarian and compensation grounds but no documents issued by the offices).
Applied for spousal sponsorship in June 2021, travelled to India in June 2022 for a month(was short of meeting RO, was stopped at the airport while returning from India. Explained the situation to the officer).
Spousal sponsorship application approved in August 2022

PR Card expired in Oct 2022, 2 months short of meeting RO. Waited until March 2023 to apply for PR Card renewal.

PR Card renewal timeline
Online application submitted 24th Mar 2023(Non-urgent)
Travelled to India due to family emergency End of May.

Applied for PRTD while in India on 16th June 2023(Urgent basis)
Application approved 26th June 2023
Received Passport 6th July 2023

Returned to Canada second week of July. Stopped at the airport by the officer asked standard questions.

Called IRCC office End of July to check PR card renewal status.
Application updated 3rd August
Approved and card mailed 9th August
No AOR received, was able to link the application beginning of June 2023

Hi guys, I applied for PRTD and got an email to send passport in. Do anyone know if it's better to mail in passport or to take it person to VAC office. Would going in in person speed it up?

My application was returned due to photo issue.. but the photo and its back is with perfect back ground center position and back with london drugs stamp and date of birth and both sides uploaded .. what the hell is this just harassment. Thinking about paper application this time. Any advice from people who faced similar situation.

Thanks for the reply. Does one have to apply again . I mean a new application or is there is facility where one can just reupload or mail the photo. And if one has to re do the whole application process then can we use old application fee receipt or does one have to pay again and upload new receipt. Thanks in advance.

No such facility , all over from scratch , it's like you never applied. This is insane as why can't they just accept the new photo ?
They treat it as brand new application. I did not pay fee again when I re uploaded the photo

Finally...it's over.
Just received my card today after esculating it twice.

My timeline:

Applied: 6th of April 2023
Received:11th of August
Total days: 127
I was never able to link my account and got no email confirmation. Card just showed up in the post unannounced today, so a nice surprise.

Context:

As it was over the 95 day wait time I was able to escalate it with my local MP office who were very helpful and got things moving. I also escalated it myself as I am due to fly back to England on the 25th, so I emailed them my flight details and gave them a letter from my boss.

When I asked the MP office why it was initially taking so long they said nothing was wrong with my application. Just that whoever was working on it just didn't bother to take any action on it, so it just sat there (maybe indefinitely I don't know) very reassuring. I think I just got bad luck with my application and must've gotten an un-attentive person to work on my application, lovely.

So if you have waited over the scheduled processing times, contact your local MP office and get them to escalate it. If I didn't I wouldn't be surprised if I was waiting another couple of months or so. Anyway, glad this is over now, I won't be doing this again as hopefully I can apply for citizenship next year.

Did you receive your pr card in canada? I would advise in person would be better rather than mailing a passport.
