Congratulations. What did you get in the email ? Just acknowledgment that they received your application without any further information ?

I am expecting mine May 24th with such a timeline
They will give you a client number and that is. The system will be updated after a day. How long should we wait for further changes?

So it's just a confirmation of having your refile and ticketing a number on it. I had the same question like you ,, for those who get secondary review, do they usually get it in a separate email and how far from the first email this is ? In other scenarios , for those who don't get secondary review, how long after this first email they know that their PR Card is mailed or approved or so ? o_O

  • IRCC received my application on 1st March 2017
  • IRCC started processing my application on 4th May 2017 (After 65 days from receiving the application)
  • IRCC sent my application for a secondary review on 4th May 2017 (Wasn't done in a good faith. Just one day before they hit the 66 days average processing time to not screw their KPIs. So, they can keep lying about the processing time)
  • The Secondary review team sent me a letter to get them an entry/exit record from each country I visited in the last 5 years...and to provide that in 30 days time (mission impossible!!)
  • Just FYI. My case is pretty straight forward. I have been living and working in Canada for the last 3.5 years (since December 2013). I traveled overseas just 1 time (14 days) in 3.5 years.
  • I recently got a job that requires me to travel to the US frequently on short visits. On 13th June I sent them a letter from my employer and a paid travel ticket to expedite my application. They never responded.
  • I called my MP Office and get his office involved in the issue to help dealing with the bureaucratic IRCC. They didn't give a shit.
  • I am currently in Chicago, IL. I tried to apply for a PRTD. They take 15 business days in addition to the application processing time with the embassy. My employer needed me to be in Chicago for 2 days only...not weeks!!
  • I am stuck here in Chicago and don't know what to do!!!
  • Now I am thinking about launching a hashtag on twitter and invite ppl who suffers from IRCC abuse of power to join me for this cyber protest to bring this to the public attention

Hi Kamal,

Sorry for all this trouble you are in. I am just curious about your situation :: Are you not able to get into Canada from the States with your exipred PR Card by car ? How did you manage to submit entry/exit record in 30 days ! and if not ,what did you submit ? Was just 14 days you were out of Canada in the last 3 & half years including the states ?? Also have you been working with a single employer for those years or were you self-employed ?

I have more urge to understand whose selected for a secondary review ? or is it random ? I am confused

Hi,

Yes. I am stuck here and can't get back to Calgary without either a valid PR card or a PR travel document.

In 14 days total, I traveled to the US 1 day, Dubai 10 days, and UK 3 days. I managed to get them the entry/exit records from the US after 2 months. UK and Dubai...forget it. I couldn't get it at all. I submitted a letter explaning that their request is nonsense and a full copy of my passport with all the in/out immigration stamps and a travel log for the last 7 years that shows my travel history and number of days spent for each trip.

Just 14 days outside Canada in the last 3.5 years. Working full time permenant with the same employer and filing taxes since 2014.

Can't think of any rational to send my application for a secondary review. The only thing I can think of is they are just insane and not really reducing the procession time but faking it by sending most applications to a secondary review which don't count when they calculate the average processing time (66days) and keep b

couldnt they read your stamps? Dubai airport stamps in entery and exit. I think that would be enough for them.

Any person with a head on his shoulder should recognise that this is enough but some IRCC officers don't. I believe they aren't stupid. I strongly believe they have a hidden criteria and obviously it's insane and they like it.

I agree with your thoughts. I believe now there are more input than just renewing a card. It's more complex, exhausting and going more in the grey area. However the good thing is that things get done by the end. I also believe in our right to feel free to travel & come back securely without being judged with such scenarios.

I am looking forward for some good news coming your way soon :)

I wish also I could escape such a dilemma though chances are low

after reading your case . it feels like i would go through the same situation . i have not recieved the letter for secondary review yet but the agent on the phone told me that its gone for review . The status sill shows its in processing .

My question is how to get that entry.exit certificate . Shall we contact every country embassy for that . I traveled a lot in in 2012 and 2013 . Since then i was in canada for most of the time . .

My second question is , when you check your status online , does it show that it has gone for secondary review ?

fingers cross for all of us .. cant travel. wanted to visit home

All folks here who feel that IRCC abuse of power makes their life really hard and restricts their mobility on no good ground (That's what I feel now). I am inviting all of you to join me launching a cyper protest on twitter/FB to bring our concerns with IRCC to the public, the Minister of Immigration, and the Members of Parliament.

Keep babysitting IRCC ridiculous requests, running like hens without heads to chase embassies and governments to get IRCC nonsense documents, and being extremely patient to the extent that damage our careers, financials, families, and personal life is neither practical nor fair. If ppl don't complain, nothing is going to change.

I will launch a hashtag #IRCC_abuse on Saturday, 15th July 2017. I hope you use it and you invite every person you know and who suffers from the IRCC abuse to join and tweet about his experience. My twitter name is Kimo Leo (@kimo_leo). I will also comment on Mr. Ahmed Hussen FB page the same time.

IRCC tweeted today bragging about reducing the PR Card renewal processing time and it's 2.7X faster now since January 2017. I bombarded them with many tweets explaining why their claim is not true and how they send apps to secondary review that takes more than 6 months in order to fake their KPIs.

One voice isn't going to make a difference. Please take few minutes and join me on twitter
