PR card renewal - 'Inspect' says 'You haven't provided a primary ID'...but I did provide.....

Hi Everyone..

Have you lately experienced the above mentioned issue, where you submitted your passport with only the pages with stamps, but it shows under 'Inspect' - Rejection reasons - You haven;t provided a primary ID?

FYI, the status on the Inspect (under Console) says 'Completed'.

Inspect console is useless - literally, it is not intended for use. Everyone please stop using it - it does not provide reliable information, and isn't intended to.

Yeah, this issue has popped up recently for others as well. Usually, it happens if you only uploaded passport pages showing stamps but didn’t include the main passport page with your photo and details. Even if the portal says "Completed," the hidden rejection reason under "Inspect" (Console) might indicate you're missing your primary ID, which in this case is your passport's bio-data page.

What you should do next:
  • Immediately upload a clear copy of your passport’s main page (with your photo, passport number, and personal details).
  • Combine this main page with the stamped pages into a single PDF and re-upload.
  • If you can’t re-upload, use the IRCC Webform ASAP to explain the situation and attach the missing document.

This step usually resolves the issue quickly.

Hi, thanks for all the information! I did scan the first page which is the “photo page” along with all the pages with stamps. The only thing I can think of is that i didnt sign the last last last cover page where emergency contact information is needed, which is left blank..but I doubt it would be the problem

We've seen multiple reports of this thing showing up in the inspect console, and then it turns out there's no issue (some got their cards no prob, others called and IRCC said it was fine).

So it might mean something. But then, since it's an unsupported (by IRCC) hack, it might be complete bullshit and not mean a thing. If IRCC is not using the field - and there's no reason to believe it is, since they don't support it - then the data may simply be meaningless.

My view is this (unsupported) use is causing people to worry needlessly.

More evidence the 'inspect tool' hack is just that, a hack, that serves little or no purpose - apart from making applicants worry for no reason whatsoever.
