Submitted my application on 7th Feb, 2025
Portal says status submitted
Dont have application number yet.
Couldnt get a hold of ircc agents to get the application number, hence couldnt link with GC Key.
Already almost a month, feeling anxious

18882422100 try to call early in the morning
I called twice this week and I could get them within 30 minutes. As I am based in Canada, I requested that they call me back. And they did call me back in 30 min.

Good luck!

Did you get you card?

I submitted my application on March 13th and the status changed on 14th to Completed. I just called IRCC. They said they mailed the card on March 14th, which is out of my expectation as it was so fast - one day?! I havent got my card yet though.

It seems they more-or-less automate PR card renewals - but only for some subset of applications. Presumably those are (for some subset* of) the straightforward and easy ones.

Note that 'mailed' may be optimistic. Probably this is equivalent to sending instructions to some other office within IRCC to print, send to mail room, put in envelope, package up with other ones, and then hand to Canada Post. It almost certainly means it will not take the 2-5 days more or less standard for regular post - probably more like 1-3 weeks.

But that's still pretty fast.

*I'm referring to different subsets because they (or their computer algorithm) decide what's straightforward and easy - you might think your application is 'simple' but hit some criteria or more that kicks it out to manual clearance. If that happens, doesn't necessarily mean it's a problem file, just won't be done automatically.

Ah that makes sense! I have only spent 20 days out of Canada for the past 5 years. I guess this may make it a bit more simpler for them to make a decison?

anyway, I will be patiently waiting for the card!

Thanks!

Posting on behalf of my parents.
My wife and my PR cards are up for renewal. We both are senior citizens and retired. We have our NOAs and Bank statements for the last 5 years and no T-4s
1- Can I log into myCIC account and file applications for both of us from this account?
2- Should we upload NOA from each year of last 5 years?
3- Should we upload bank statement of each month in the last 5 years.
4- Any other tips/guidance will be appreciated.

Hi, some of my suggestions see below;

1. you’d search PR portal on Google and start your applications there. I believe you should submit your applications separately.

2. People do it differently when it comes to uploading NOAs, bank statements and other Proof of residency. I have seen people upload only a few months of each year for the last five years; some like me include every single month of each year for the previous five years. Though I do recommend submit your NOAs from each year.

The instructions say you only need two pieces of evidence of residing in Canada. A few of the NOAs should be sufficient. Submit three if you want.

As far as I've seen, there's no consistent evidence that submitting reams of extra evidence results in quicker/better results. Perhaps for those who have some other issues and are not (obviously) residing in Canada, or possibly some history of non-compliance with the residency obligation.

If you have five years of NOA and those are all from work in Canada, there should be no reason to submit substantially more than IRCC requests in their instructions.

Or put more simply: follow the instructions. A little bit extra is probably okay (even if unnecessary); too much is too much.

You'll see from this thread and others that lately IRCC has been processing these fairly quickly - at least for those that are straightforward cases.

IMHO: five years of monthly bank statements is CLEARLY excessive.
