PR CARD RENEWAL 2025 January

@ghost105 Hi, which number to call to ircc agent? I tried to call 1888-242-2100 to ask my AOR? submitted the renewal application December 27 through online but have not received any respond yet...Thank you

Submitted my application on 7th Feb, 2025
Portal says status submitted
Dont have application number yet.
Couldnt get a hold of ircc agents to get the application number, hence couldnt link with GC Key.
Already almost a month, feeling anxious

Did you get you card?

I submitted my application on March 13th and the status changed on 14th to Completed. I just called IRCC. They said they mailed the card on March 14th, which is out of my expectation as it was so fast - one day?! I havent got my card yet though.

It seems they more-or-less automate PR card renewals - but only for some subset of applications. Presumably those are (for some subset* of) the straightforward and easy ones.

Note that 'mailed' may be optimistic. Probably this is equivalent to sending instructions to some other office within IRCC to print, send to mail room, put in envelope, package up with other ones, and then hand to Canada Post. It almost certainly means it will not take the 2-5 days more or less standard for regular post - probably more like 1-3 weeks.

But that's still pretty fast.

*I'm referring to different subsets because they (or their computer algorithm) decide what's straightforward and easy - you might think your application is 'simple' but hit some criteria or more that kicks it out to manual clearance. If that happens, doesn't necessarily mean it's a problem file, just won't be done automatically.

Ah that makes sense! I have only spent 20 days out of Canada for the past 5 years. I guess this may make it a bit more simpler for them to make a decison?

anyway, I will be patiently waiting for the card!
