That's good to hear. Congratulations.mami_79 said:Hi,
I've got the update on my PR card renewal today
1. We received your application for a permanent resident card on September 15, 2015.
2. We started processing your application on September 16, 2015.
3. Your request for a permanent resident card was approved on September 21, 2015. Your permanent resident card will be mailed to you or if quality assurance is required, made available for you to pick up at CIC office.
My application actually arrived at CIC office on July 15, 2015 not September 15, 2015 as they updated in the system.
So processing time for my application until decision made is 68 days.
156 days is from the time CIC received your application. mami_79 has been really lucky as her file was processed earlier... I believe it was just a luck... She did mention that it was normal processing not urgent processing.HighFive said:Folks, I've just noticed here - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-card.asp - that today it does take 156 calendar days to renew PR card.
Assuming everything is OK with application, do they count those 156 days from the day they have received it at CIC office or from a day they've physically opened an envelope??
on the website they say they are working on applications received up to May 14, 2015 and mami_79 (congrats, mami_79!! ) has sent an application on July 15 and got everything sorted out on September 21st.... So, how is that possible? Had "urgent processing" been involved?
Thanks.
kbanatwala, thanks for your reply. I guess mami_79 was really lucky then to get her case processed that fast.kbanatwala said:156 days is from the time CIC received your application. mami_79 has been really lucky as her file was processed earlier... Has your application been received on ECAS?srini123 said:Applied for PR Renewal - July 4 2015
Application Reached CIC - July 8 2015
Just saw that the PR card processing times have been updated
Existing permanent residents - 159 calendar days
(Working on applications received up to May 25, 2015)
Wait a min. If I read correctly you earlier said that you sent the application on July 18th. Right? So this means they have are processing applications, at least till July 18th. But the CIC website says they are still processing applications from May 25th. Seems like the CIC processing status update is not up-to-date.mami_79 said:Hi,

Yes, my application reached CIC on 15 Jul according to Canada post tracking. I wonder that the date of application that is processing on CIC wrbsite is based on the last application that they are still working on it. For example, there were 100 applications reached on 25 May. If there is 1 application that is complicated and pending for additional document or whatever, CIC might still put that they are processing the application from 25 May even though many applications sent later than 25 May have been already started processing.blueboy said:Wait a min. Btw, I sent the application in first week of August. Nothing on ecas. No acknowledgement or anything. CIC should atleast acknowledge that they have received the application.
