Hi,

I have tried to post my question in a different thread but didn't get much information so i hope someone will be able to answer me on this thread.

I have 3 different cases.

1. My father and sister applied for PR card renewal on June,2015 and here is their time line.

- We received your application for a permanent resident card on June 12, 2015.
- We started processing your application on November 16, 2015.

there is no feedback after that since then, they called CIC today and they told them that their applications were approved but they have to wait for the cards to be issued as there were facing problems as they are issuing new types of PR cards.

Is there any one in the same situation ? and is it normal not have the Ecase updated if their applications were approved.

2. another member of the family has sent his pr card renewal application on July,2015. It was delivered according to canada post on 10-July-2015, but until now nothing is shown on the Ecase.

I can see several people have sent their applications on July,2015 at around the same time and they have started receiving their cards or will receive them soon, so what might be the problem in this case?

Thanks.

I have an update guys. I saw this on Sunday. Not sure if CIC works during weekends.

My Timeline for PR card renewal

Permanent Resident Card
We received your application for a permanent resident card on June 19, 2015.

We started processing your application on November 20, 2015.

Your request for a permanent resident card was approved on December 10, 2015. Your Permanent resident card will be mailed to you or if quality assurance is required, made available for you to pick up at a CIC office.

Just waiting to receive the card in the mail now.

My application was a little Unusual as I had entered Canada with just 4 months left for PR card expiry and not completing my residency obligations during first five years of being a PR. So had to stay in Canada for 2 years in a row before reapplying. Let me know if any of you are in a similar situation and I might be able to help.

JJS
Hey JJS

Congratulations on receiving your PR card!

Did your application go to Secondary Review ? I'm asking because I'm in a similar situation except that I entered Canada a little over a year before my PR card expired so I also stayed for two years.

Did you also provide any additional documents to prove that you stayed here for the full 2 years ?

Congrats again!

Hello RH_Canada

This could probably be a case of just hit or miss. The update about decision made is usually updated only once the cards are mailed out. As far as the news about New PR cards is concerned, that is true. The PR cards produced after Nov 25th(or21st) 2015 have a new design and enhanced security features. Delay could also be due to how long it takes for the cards to reach you and other factors but looks pretty straightforward for your father and sister and they should be receiving their cards in the mail soon.

I agree that they are not the best team when it comes to updating status for an application. I find calling CIC is a lot better option but don't call them often.

Hope this helps.. Good Luck!!

Hey amr95

My application did not go through secondary review. I sent all the documents as mentioned and nothing extra. The only thing I feel i sent differently was sending colored copies of the passport instead of greyscale without asking. I have seen that for several PR renewal cases going into secondary review, colored copies of passport is what they ask for. So it'd be nice if you can do that when applying. Doesn't hurt. But be very thorough with the documents that you send and highlight the areas in the document you want them to see.

Hope this helps.. Good Luck!!

THanks JJS for the feedback.

I am not really sure if the delay on showing the status on the ecase is on purpose or if there is something to worry about.

* can i ask if there is any one here that has submitted a PR renewal application on July,2015? did any one received his/her cards?

* also can i ask how many days does it take to activate the Ecase after you see that the CIC has reached processing the date you have submitted your application?

Thanks.

So for an application to show up on ECAS it usually takes around a week from the Processing date they have on the Processing Times section for PR cards. For example right now it says "Working on applications received on July 16, 2015." So I would assume all applications received on July 16th or around should show up in a weeks time or so.

But it all comes down to when the application was sent and when it was delivered and acknowledged. Shouldn't be far. If we go by the trend you should see an update within a week or so assuming you applied before July 16th.
