In our landing interview letter, CIC linked us to this page for the PR Card Photo specifications. It doesn't say whether the person can wear glasses or not - my husband always wears glasses, which is more true to his appearance, though I know sometimes people (his Canadian driver's license for example), want the photo without. Just wondering if anyone knows if he should get his photos with or without glasses?

When I had my PR application photos taken, the photographer lady said I need to take off my glasses. Same thing when they took photos of me during the medical exam and when I applied for my Ontario Photo Card. So I would assume he can't wear glasses.

lauralee - off topic but did you ever get your landing appt rescheduled?
Contacted my MP and shortly thereafter CIC sent us an email putting it back to the original date and time... not sure if it was coincidence or not, but regardless we have our fingers crossed that it will happen next week! :)

Extra details

Glasses may be worn in photos as long as the eyes are clearly visible and there is no glare in the glasses.

Hello, I left Canada one month after landing and now they have sent me a letter requesting a new picture after 60 days of landing. Is it OK to take a photo outside of Canada and send it to them by post?

I have the EXACT same question. They sent me a photo request 60 days after landing. I had thought they would use the ones I sent them with PPR.

I don't see why it would be a problem to send them from wherever you are. Just make sure the photographer follows the specs.

this is common sense, that's why you don't see it on photo specifications. you can wear glasses as long as your eyes are clearly visible and the glasses do not cover half of your face.

the reason why they don't put that in the specifications because if they did, now they have to specify other head accessories, like earings, necklaces, hearing aids, forehead gem thingy (vision's infinity stone), etc.

The presence or not of glasses are in the specs. The reason a lot of photographers suggest not having them on is because it's easy to get glare on the glasses and thus render the pictures useless. Glass frames can also cast shadow so it's just simpler to not have them on.
