Can someone send me the link to apply for the PR Card Renewal online? Every time I Google I end up on the page with the explanations to mall in but I know I saw somewhere you can do it online, right? Or maybe I imagined it. It's for my husband, his card is expiring in January - simple case, been living in Canada since he got PR in 2017.

I think it is https://prson-srpel.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login

Hi everyone - what is the total fees to submit. Is it $ 50 ? Also, do we pay it first and then upload receipt ? Thank you.

Hi everyone,
I am trying to apply for pr card renewal through online application. I have been outside of canada for almost 90 days during the last 5 years. Do I have to provide them the proof of my stay in canada as well? I saw in Appendix A that we have to provide copies of pay stubs, bank statements etc in order to meet residency obligations. Is it mandatory for every applicant or just those who do not meet the residency obligations?
Please help me, Thank you in advance.

Apparently not. And it's not for those that have not met the R.O., because a person can very well have been outside of Canada for>1095 and still have met the R.O., under certain circumstances (i.e. accompanying their Canadian spouse). Those that have not met the R.O. should probably not apply for a new PR card, or PRTD without further research on how best to get it approved, if at all possible.

Part of the `problem', is that IRCC recently combined the PRTD and PRC applications, into one...but the Instruction Guide still hasn't been worked through to illuminate the changes...this appears to be one of them:

Additional documents you may need to complete and submit, if they apply:

  • Proof of residency requirement: if you were outside Canada for 1095 days or more in the past five (5) years, provide supporting documents as they apply to you based on the situations outlined in Appendix A: Residency Obligation.
---
This is leading people that have not been outside of Canada for 1095 days or more, to believe that additional documentation is not needed, especially if they have allowed IRCC to get travel history directly from CBSA.

I wasn't aware that you can (apparently) just ask a CBSA officer when returning to Canada* - getting your travel history instantly??:

Time lived in Canada
To keep your permanent resident status, you must have been in Canada for at least 730 days during the last five years. These 730 days don’t need to be continuous. Some of your time abroad may count towards the 730 days.
To help you track your time in Canada, use a travel journal. Other ways to know how long you’ve been in Canada:

As always, please wait for others to offer their opinion...then go with the majority. LOL!

It is 50$. You pay online first and then download and print your receipt. Send your receipt in with your application and documents.

An update to what I posted, previously.

Ok, I can confirm that this is NOT true.

I just returned from a short vacation and asked the CBSA officer if I could obtain my exit/entry data, since I was applying to renew my PR card, and was told that I needed to submit an ATIP request. The officer could see that I was clearly in compliance with the R.O., but couldn't give me anything more.

Hi everyone,
I want to get information on my friend wants to renew PR is there any link where He can apply online, please?
thanks

FYI, some people are still reporting `issues' with applying online, so mailing the application could be a better/faster option for your friend.
Also, make sure your friend knows that the PR card will not be sent to an address outside of Canada. The card can be forwarded by someone else at the recipients address, to the address abroad, but it's not without risk of being lost, or intercepted by Customs in a foreign country (rules vary regarding if PR cards can be imported, due in part to them having a RFID chip).

Lastly, if your friend's card has not yet expired:
Once the new card is issued...even if it sits in the IRCC outgoing mail room for days/weeks, the current (valid) card will become invalid 60 days after the issue date of the new card. If your friend is abroad, planning to return on the current card...it may not be valid on the day of travel.
