Hi All,

I have not picked up my PR card yet and was wondering if someone can help me with TIPS to Pickup card without getting into trouble?
I have haerd that you will be asked more questions if you missed actual appointment date for card Pickup?
Or If I just let it there and re apply after meeting my residency requirment next year? IS IT POSSIBLE?
I am scared because my wife' s PR application is pending and If they found out while I am there for card pickup it will be cancelled or delayed forever.
My PR card is expired and not sure whether Embassy will ask for New PR card before approving my wife case?
Any help please

Leon and other Star Members!!!
Thanks!

So you applied to renew your PR card without meeting the residency requirement and they put the application through and sent you a letter to pick it up? Did you lie on your application about your residency? If you do not pick it up within a certain time limit, they will send it back to CIC headquarters and probably destroy it and you will have to apply again. If you apply again after you meet the residency requirements, they can not go back in time and say you lost your PR at some point before. If they ever ask you why you did not pick it up, you can say you never received the letter to pick it up.

If you go pick it up now and they realized you lied about your residency or even just feel you have too many stamps in your passport, they will ask you to prove your residency and that will be hard if you don't meet the requirements.

Leon,

Thanks you so much for your detailed response! I appreciate your advice and may think about leaving this card like and apply anotherone after few months. But what if I take a risk and go there to pickup???

Will they put in system that I came here to pickup and they asked me for residency questionare etc??
Or they will just let me go without card and ask me to prove residency obligation?

If you can put some light on any experience you have noticed in forum.

Thanks all!!

If they do an RQ and find that you don't meet the requirements, they could revoke your PR status but from what I have heard, they will often just send people home without the card. Still, if you don't want to take the risk, leave the card there and apply again later.
