Hi,can somebody guide on , is it illegal to courier the PR cards out of Canada. somebody told it is illegal.
My plan was i will get these couriered , but now its a worry.

It is perfectly legal. However, you should use a reliable courier so it does not get lost.

If you can use "hand delivery" i.e. use someone you know to send to you.

I go with the consultants, it is illegal. I understand there is a chip in the new cards been produced for tracking purposes. Not very sure.
Better to err on d side of caution and seek a travel document.

1, I wouldn't believe the consultants, there is nothing in the IRPA making it illegal, then it is legal, no law is written telling you what is legal to do,

i checked on settlement.org forum...
Many people have replied that it is legal however CIC has also issued guideline that if it is intercepted by customs , they hve been instructed to return it back to CIC office.
so it becomes very vague as to what stand CIC wants to take on this matter.
Yes..there is a magnetic strip that could be detected..

Although there is no direct law/guideline against it yet, CIC's position is to discourage the practice that is why they authorised Customs to intercept and return every PR card found. To avoid getting your card intercepted, do not have it forwared by courier or surface mail. Have a friend physically carry it for you, cheers.

Anyone has tried to courier the new RFID PR card abroad from Canada (using UPS or Fedex) ?
Is it ok to courier it ?
Kindly let me know your suggestions ?

HI

Is it safe to concur that IRCC says so to avoid identity theft? If it's not illegal or not going to render a person ineligible, then that is the only reason it might be there.
