Hi,

I am monitoring the PR card Canada processing time website and waiting for it update the timelines for what date they are caught up to. they haven't updated their status since March 4th, although they clearly say status is is updated weekly.

Anyone has any info or insight they can share.

We applied for PR card renewal end of December and was received by courier on Jan 2nd 2018. Currently we are planning to travel last week but we will need a PR card by then.

Any thoughts or suggests are welcome. Thanks

IRCC processing times are only estimates, not commitments... not much to do here. CSE are recommended only if application is 6 weeks beyond estimated processing time

How long are you going to travel? If you travel by private vehicle, no need of PR card. If you travel for a long period, e.g. 1 month, there is a good chance PR card will arrive during this time and you can have some (trusted) people mailing you. Or you can apply for PRTD outside Canada if time allows.

The other thing that can significantly affect the processing of a PR renewal is how close you are to RO. If you have only been in Canada close to the 730 days required (less than 800 IMO), it is not unusual for the application to go to secondary review (more often than not), which has no timeline.

I think we should be fine with the days, we have over 1200 plus days , so hopefully it doesn't goes for secondary review.
