Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi Forum members,

Since June 2008 the PR card is sent by CIC to all landed immigrants, by default.

Just wanted to know how much time it takes, the official time is 48 business days.

Please share you experiences on the timings for getting the PR card.

Thanks in advance.

Add one week for postal time..now a days it is about 55 days

It depends. There is + or - to the standard time frame. Probably if you wish to get it early, it could be late :D . Canada post is some what slower than before!!. If you want to check, drop an envelop by yourselves ( or ask some one else ) in any city addressed to your mail box.

Is there any way to speedup the procedure.

No way except waiting.
If you have to leave Canada for some before getting the PR Card, there are other options.

Nitin, it is taking 9-10 weeks these days to get the PR card and there is no way to expedite it.

As I understand it, it also depends greatly on which port of entry you used when you landed.

Some are faster than others.

We landed in Vancouver and were quoted 4 to 6 weeks by the immigration official. Will be able to let you know for sure when our PR cards arrive.

yes we will be lucky to receive all pr cards for every family in specified time even.

i landed in vancouver on 1st of May and i didnot get my PR card yet. When i enquired last month they told there is a photo problem and they will contact.Again i enquired they said the cic office will contact. But till now they didnot contact.I think they are delaying it now adays. That is it can take upto 180 days

I landed on 18th june. But have not received my PR card till yet.But my husband got it in 8 weeks time.I need to travel but dont know wht to do?
Call centre agents are saying that I ve to wait 2 more weeks and then they ll send me solemn declaration that I have never received my card to process new card. But i know,It ll take ages to get new one.

Its Better to just land and forget the card,,,,,, and after 3yrs apply straight for the passport leave this card thingy :):):)
