Hi all,

While I was filling out my husband's section in the permanent residence application, I found this question:

""Has xxxx been refused refugee status, or an immigrant or permanent resident visa (including a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) or application to the Provincial nominee Program) or visitor or temporary resident visa, to Canada or any other country?""

My husband applied twice before in the federal skilled worker program and his application was returned in both times.

So now I am confused, should the answer to the above question be a yes or a no?

to be on the safer side say yes and clearly explain the situation in the text box that will come up.

you will not be at a disadvantage for saying a yes, as long as you explain the situation clearly. they will read the explanation and take a view on it. But saying no to it IMO could be considered misrepresentation.

By "returned" you mean rejected ? Either ways, the answer is yes and you should explain exactly what happened.

You don't have to have the letter, just write the reason, that should suffice.

Thanks so much...I just remember that v submitted our application in 2012 and the result came out probably in 2013...do v need to mention d year in which v applied??

It wouldn't harm, it's better but most importantly the refusal and the reason.

you should have a small stamp in your passport with date and visa application 'file number'

We don't have any stamps in our passports......never received passport request

I had a student visa rejection in 2010 from France but forgot to mention it in my application. However I semt a webform to inform IRCC 2 weeks after submition. Can they still reject my app for misrepresentation?
