Hi,

I got married on April 17th 2015 and I notified CIC about my marital status prior to my marriage.
CIC officer has sent me a list of documents to add my spouse to my PR application. Currently my wife is in India and her Temporary Resident Application (Visitor) is getting processed and there is some delay in getting her visitor visa.

My concern is do i have to wait for her to reach Canada before sending my documents to CIC.
Or can i send Spouse addition documents/Questionaire while she in India.

They have asked for her boarding pass/exit and entry stamps.

Thanks

Hi,

I am in the same boat.On which email address did you send the information update and how long does it took for them to reply.

I think you can send them the questionnaire and all the required documents while she is India.

Hi,

I am too a September 2014 applicant - Got Married in Feb - Notified CIC about it @ Ottawa email - response within 3 business days - sent required documents (even got my wife to courier documents from India since signature was required on the forms) - Got response of acceptance within 10 business days of addition of spouse to application - Changed address - Address reflected within 10 working days

So far CIC is OK for me. I believe we need to send the marital status change notice to the ottawa email ID.

Hope this helps.

nhixon, I have got email from Ottawa today asking me to submit my wife's documents.
They have asked me to send all the communication to through email only, except for police certificates which they want in original.
But they have also asked for four passport photographs as per specifications and my wedding photographs.
Is it ok if I send passport photos and wedding photos also through mail along PCC and rest of the documents online through email.
How did you submitted these docs.

I have sent all the required scanned copies as reply to the email received from CPC-CTD-Ottawa.

Now I am sending PCC from India, 4 photographs as per specifications and wedding photographs in post.

I have paid the fees online as per below instruction in email i received.
Now should i send the receipt also by post to CPC-Ottawa.
In the receipt, whose clent id and date of birth should i write. Is it my DOB and Client ID or my wife's?

nhixon\seniors, please help??

"If your spouse intends to accompany you to Canada, you must pay the processing fee of $550 CAD for your spouse’s application. This payment must be made online:
Go to this website: https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do?lang=en
• Read the instructions on each page, and click “Continue” to proceed
• Select the “Immigration” link, followed by “Spouse and Common-Law Partner in Canada Class”
• Enter the number of fee payments (1) in the box beside the corresponding fee.
• Click “Submit”
• Proceed to pay your fees by selecting “Pay” and then follow the instructions to pay with a credit card
Once we have received the processing fee, your spouse’s application status will be changed to an accompanying dependant"

Hi,

All documents except PCC has to be sent as scanned copies. And also since they mentioned the number "4" for photographs, I also mailed them the hardcopy (4) of my spouse alongwith spousal PCC. (Note: There are some guys on the forum who have sent the scanned copy of the photo, and it has been accepted by CIC. I did it to be on the safer side)

Once you are done with the payment, you need to send the receipt (pdf) to "CPCO-Cost-recovery.CTDO-Recouvrement-frais@cic.gc.ca" (without quotes) keeping CPC Ottawa in CC. I haven't sent the hardcopy to CIC. You may do that, since you would be sending your documents any ways to CIC, it wouldn't hurt to send this too.

Regarding the details on the receipt, I did not touch anything and sent it as it is to the above email addresses. (since they haven't mentioned anything to be entered). We have sent our forms and proofs of spouse to CIC and since we have selected Spouse / Common Law Partner while paying the concerned fees, guess it is not required.

I received successful addition of my spouse to my application 10 days later.

Hope it helps.

Hi,

I have my Ontario PNP issued and my Federal part of PR application is in process. It is under the regular process and not under express entry system. My current status in Canada is open work permit. I plan to get married to my girlfriend in India in January 2016, and plan to add my spouse to my pending PR application soon after I come back to Canada after my wedding.. While I am in India, after my wedding, I plan to apply for her open work permit under the spouse open work permit category.

How does it work? Can one apply for spouse open work permit while that spouse's name is already added on the primary person's PR application? Also, do you think if it is wise to apply for her work permit before I add her name on my PR application? or apply after the name is added? During her work permit application time, do I need to inform CIC that my PR application is under process?

which stage of PR application are you in>? Also, CIC normally asks to submit the docs in 30 days. wasn't that the case>?
