Hello Friends

I am going to do 1 year masters from Ontario, my main motive is to apply for PR after completing the masters. As I will be getting one year PGWP , it is a high risk which I have decided to take.

Can anyone on this forum help me to know about OINP and its waiting period and if someone got his/her PR through OINP ?

Friends please help me !!!

Hi,

I don't know about the waiting period but I have a friend who applied for OINP thru Masters stream and her program of study was 1yr- so it's possible, you just have do things very quickly and hope for the best!

Before she graduated from the program, she had already done IELTS, she had the fee ready, had made all the documents ready for the OINP process. By 1st week September 2015, she had completed her program and had her letter of degree completion from the school, etc . Then she applied for work permit and added proof of application for PGWP with the OINP application documents. By January 2016, she received nomination and 1 Yrwork permit. She applied the same January (like I said she did everything quickly), got AOR in March 16.

By September 2016, she applied for bridge work permit since what she had was only good till Jan 2017-they gave her 1 yr. By December 2016 she got medical request. She landed in March 2017. With just one BOWP.

So you can take the risk and hope things turn out fine like my friend or if you can save yourself some hassle and get a 2 year program... 'Cause I'll tell you- though it worked out for my friend, she was always stressed , always worried about delays until she got the visa...

Cheers

it is not necessary that if you finish your masters in 1 year so you will get 1 year PGWP , I know so many guys who did master in 1 year and they got 3 years work permit.
Even I know many guys who finish their master in 16 month and they got 18 months PGWP.
Actually its all depend on graduation letter from uni which mentions the duration of your program

But if the duration of the Masters is one year, they're not likely to give 3 years PGWP. He mentioned He plans to do a 1-year masters.
