It depends . The Metro Vancouver area is pretty big (not as big as the GTA) and there are lots of cities within that. When people think of Vancouver , they probably only talk about downtown and that's expensive just like in any city across the world. I bedroom rents are anywhere between 1000-1700 $. Public transit is really good so most new immigrants prefer that over a car.
If you like spending money, you will do that in any city haha.

Please be aware that it rains a lot here . Starts in October and goes on until at least March. All day every day. You have to be okay with that .

Shop at Wal-Mart and you'll save $$$. Stay away from save-on, Safeway. Will post whatever else pops into my head.

Jobs are not easy and making friends is HARD. Vancouver is known to be a cold city for its lack of friendship. People are very helpful though. Very!

Learn to say sorry and thank you and learn to others saying that as well. It's a way of being
Wow so meeting new people and finding jobs are hard :(

Now I am wondering if I should consider Toronto :(

It will be hard to make friends anywhere. What I see here is that a lot of people try to participate only in their community i.e. Indians with Indians, Brazilians with Brazilians, Filipinos with Filipinos and that sometimes can slow your progress. You are already leaving the "comfort zone" from your country, try to embrace Canada as a whole.

Regarding jobs, start searching now. Use Indeed.ca, it is a good website. Read how to prepare a good cover letter and a resume. If your cover letter is not good they wont read your resume.

Oh yes, that I am aware. I am not open to all communities :)

I have contacted a few coffee shops & restaurants for survival jobs and they were positive and offered an interview when I arrive in Vancouver. So that's a good sign I guess :)

Guys I have a doubt , my landing province says ON(Ontario ) Ottawa on my COPR . But now I want to do my landing in Vancouver will there be any issue regarding this ?
I think you should take guidance for this from an immigration lawyer and not rely on forum.

If your landing province says Ontario then you should land in Toronto.

Which stream did you apply? PNP?

Did you select Ontario when you filled EE? Maybe that could be why it says Ontario as landing province.

I think you should be fine to land anywhere in Canada expect Quebec
Yeah that’s what I feel !

you've nailed the problem! I'm trying not to do that because what's the point of moving to a different country if you continue to do the same things, live the same way, and are not exposed to different cultures, and languages, and food! Everyone I know who moved here only wants to live in areas that are predominantly of their own community. Totally defeats the purpose in my opinion.

The jobs bit will be tough anywhere. It depends how you look at it. Some people only want jobs in their field, some accept the fact that they may have to make do with something temp until they make solid connections. Some also go back to school (on the weekends) so they can get a local education and network. This is a great way to find a job in your professional field. Sure, it will take time, but you will get there eventually and it'd all about looking at the bigger picture, isn't it?

No one said immigration was easy. Give it some time, and all your cards will fall into place.

Can I ask where in India are you from?

Now I am wondering if I should consider Toronto :(

This is so true!! Why the hell move to a new country if you still want to live with the same community. Spread around and be more open :)

Yes, I do see the flag. Thanks for chiming in. I asked him where in India he's from. He missed that question, so I asked him again. Why so passive aggressive? :)
