My husbands PR application was approved on October 14th.

After finding out that Immigration had the wrong email address for my husband, which is why we never got PPR email from CPC-O, we had called CIC 3 times...
The CIC agent told us not to wait for CPC-O to resend the PPR to us since it could take weeks. He told us to get the photocopy of my husbands passport, two passport photos and to send those along with a detailed letter explaining our situation to Ottawa.
So we have sent all this to Ottawa, Laurier Avenue West, it arrived there yesterday. We also included a pre-paid, self addressed Xpresspost envelope for them to send everything to my husband in the USA when they are done.

Does anyone have any idea how long it might take to get COPR in the mail after they have received our package yesterday?

it takes as long as it takes for mail to arrive from ottawa. for the us, it can take anywhere from 1-3 weeks. i would also recommend sending the copy of passport through a case specific inquiry, to be sure it's received. generally, us applicants receive their COPR through regular mail in a brown envelope. if you sent an envelope without them specifically requesting it, they may or may not use it.

Has his status changed to DM? generally, for Ottawa, DM status means your approval has been mailed out, so check his status. I would go by the date his status changes to DM, not by the date they receive the package.

Oh okay. We never received the PPR email since they have the wrong email on file. So we included the prepaid envelope ust in case.

His status on MyCIC is DM as of October 14th, yes.

interesting. Ottawa may be changing up how COPRs are sent out vs. online status changes now that MyCIC is available. i'm sure he will get it soon enough. again, id recommend sending the copy through a case specific enquiry to double the chance they get it!

to clarify, is your husband a us citizen or visa exempt?

Alright! I know we also included a photocopy of his passport with the PR application as well, and now also just sent this one. We will definitely look into sending one via the IRCC Web Form.
Been pretty nerve-wrecking sending the PPR documents without having gotten the actual PPR email from them, haha.

Thank you for your responses. :)

Just seen! Husband is a US Citizen.

yeah, a PPR for visa exempt applicants is basically to confirm no personal information has been changed and the validity date of the passport. a lot of US applicants don't even get PPR and they only receive their approval paper in the mail.

are you sure they actually sent a ppr, or are you going by what the call centre agent is saying? to know for sure, order the GSMC notes too. the notes will tell you when/if it was sent.

looking at the time line, if his file went to DM on Oct 14, and they just mailed it out with needing the passport copy, the COPR might not have been mailed until that next monday, which mean it's only been about 2 weeks. canada post doesn't deliver on sat or sun so you can't include those days in the estimate. though, again, ottawa may have changed up how DM works.

i think the GCMS notes will be the best way to determine whether anything has been mailed and if a ppr was actually sent.

We have basically been going by what the agents have told us, since we've gotten no other correspondence. They told us that they see CPC-O had sent us an email on October 14th for PPR. The first agent we got tried to resend the email, but again, they have the wrong email on file. So we didn't get it again.
Second agent told us they emailed Ottawa to tell them to resend us the PPR to his proper email and also got us to use IRCC Web Form to change his email to the right one.
Third agent told us to forget all that and just send the documents with a detailed letter of explanation. Which Ottawa just received our documents yesterday.

Lol!! It's been a mess and has us freaking out as we wanted him here for Christmas.

How would I go about requesting GCMS notes?
