Here's a stumper for you.

First, background: I hired an immigration consultant for this whole process. He emailed me when the PPR form was received by his office. He strongly encouraged me to go in person to Buffalo to get my visa but it would cost just too much money. So I told him I wouldn't be doing that and he asked me where I wanted him to mail the PPR to so I could mail it in with my passport. I told him. Well I have not received my PPR in the mail. As you can imagine, I am very eager to get my passport mailed and sent back so I can land. I have emailed my consultant twice since then to ask if he got a chance to mail it to me and if there was a tracking number. He has not returned my emails. I don't know why he wouldn't have mailed me the PPR (maybe he lost it?) but I'm beginning to suspect something is off.

Here's my question. When he received my PPR he scanned a copy and emailed it to me. The barcode is clear and the scan is pretty high quality. I was wondering, if I printed the scan out and mailed that in with my passport, would that be acceptable or would it be fishy? I'm fairly certain that no matter how good a scan it is, if you look at it, you will still be able to tell it's not the original letter. I'm thinking that between scanning it and me asking him to mail it, my consultant filed it away somewhere and now cannot find it. That, or it got lost in the mail. Because I'm fairly certain it should have been here by now.

He probably received it by email. Have you checked Ecas to see what stage your application is at? Send the scanned copy with the passport.

No, he definitely didn't receive it via email, he got it in the post, he told me as much, plus the scanned version has his address on it. Ecas says "Decision Made" Do you still think it will be okay to print out the scanned version and mail it in?

I also received my PPR from my attorney via scan. I'm mailing my scanned/printed version with my passport tomorrow. I don't think there is any issue with it. It's what my attorney suggested I do.

hmmm, I received my PPR via email and it doesn't even say that you have to include a copy of the email (or letter for that matter) with your passport. I mailed in my passport and photos on 3/29 and wrote a letter with my file information and wrote that I was sending my passport and photos as requested. I can't imagine they care if you send a copy of what they sent you for passport request as long as you note your immigration file number in what you send. I put all of those things in an envelope and put my immigration file number sticker on the outside of that envelope (as the directions said to do) and wrote my name on it too. Then I put that envelope inside the XpressPost mailing envelope and addressed it to the Fort Erie office.

So I think sending your scan would be fine - doesn't have to be the original. You could send that with a cover letter.

I just checked my tracker and it has been delivered today, so it took two days from Vancouver to Ft. Erie via XpressPost. Iamrobot - I'll post the info on the Buffalo thread so you know approximately how long it takes to get it back. I'm so nervous I did something wrong and that they'll lose my passport or send it back and say, well, you didn't provide your eye color and height, so you'll have to do this again. I did forget to do that in my letter, so I emailed them to tell them that information (although I believe it was in my application anyway), or at least it's on the copy of my drivers license which is in my application. I will finally be relieved of all this stress when I get my passport back.

Nice!! I didn't even think to include a COVER LETTER!!!!!! I sent mine via USPS Express and it was rec'd on March 30th - the letter indicated it would take 15 business days, not including delivery time. I expect to get my passport back by April 22. ???
