potential photo problems

Again, just combing through my application, and I found another possible hiccup..

When I had the immigration photos taken, I was wearing a hooded sweater, thus partially obstructing the white wall behind me. My face is clear, but I'm worried that the pic may not pass, as there is a hood behind my head.. It's not raised, but it's there.. if you catch my drift..

Has anybody had any photos declined due to something like this?

Thanks for your input.

Cheers

It can be a problem. If they can see your face clearly including ears you should be fine (they care about face+ear+hair) If they are clear I don't think you will have problem; then again ask other people as well.

Anything you are unsure about before submitting, fix it. Delaying the application for days/weeks may save you months/years in the long run.

that would probably be best because by the time they request new photos (if those are that bad) and you send them in and for them to look for your application to add it in. That could be anywhere from a 2-4 month delay. Better to be safe than sorry. To re-take those photos is only about 10-15 minutes.

My application arrived in Mississauga March 13 th so they havent even started the sponsorship part yet. I'll go have them re done tomorrow. Should I send them to the same adress? Im scared though that they will finish the sponsor one and send it to London before they discover that I have sent new pictures :(

Oh no you already sent it. Now you have to wait for the application number. When they give it to you. You get the application number, when you get AOR. You have to wait until they will you the application number, otherwise they wont be able to track your application

there is no point in sending to CPC-M without a UCI or Application #, it would just get lost. Your best bet is as soon as the send the AOR letter if they do which states they have received your application then send the photos, sending them now would be fruitless as it most likely get lost.

I get so frustrated and I dont understand it because it doesnt specify anywhere on Appenndix B that the ears needs to be visable, just the face and shoulders :( Im aware of that in passport photos ears needs to be visable but on Appendix B it says that immigration photos are NOT like passport photos.
At photographer we were also really confused if I was suppose to wear my glasses or not, it doesnt say anything about that either, we decided to go without since I dont have glasses on my passport picture.

My husband's photos were declined but he had already been approved for his visa and had landed in Canada. While we were waiting for his PR card, we received a letter requesting more photos. So although the photos did cause a delay, it was while he was here, waiting for his PR card. I've read that this happened to a few people as well.

An experienced photographer should tell you any immigration/passport photo that glasses should never be worn. Also what i did was, i gave photographer the specifications of what immigration needed, he was able to take the picture and size the right way. Granted i paid a little more then say a grocery store photo center but in the end the outcome was great, try taking it to a photography shop, present them the specification sheet that CIC has put out on the size and they should be able to take the correct picture.

to add another point to your post, ears should not matter, just the size of the face and shoulders, nothing should be obstructing your face, if you have a picture with glasses i would advise to you to retake the photos and send it back to CIC as they most likely will reject photos where anything is obstructing the face.

We decided to go without glasses, so no glasses in the pictures :) But seriously I have looked everywhere in the guieds and it doesnt say anything about the ears :(
