Postponed Refugee hearing for nov 19th ,2020

Hi y’all. My refugee hearing for November 19th,2020 has been postponed due to the fact that no board member was available. I was told by my lawyer only 3days before the hearing date. And my lawyer already has submitted the documents in but still no updates it’s been 3months I’m very disappointed. I’m a female and when I flee my country I was underaged. Could anyone tell me how long would take to get a new hearing date. I made the refugee claim in April 2019. It’s been almost 2years since I submitted.

Nobody knows when it could be, just stay calm and wait, i know its very hard but you cant do anything about it, in the mean time try to apply for your new work permit soon if you didnt do it already.

I’m going through a lot right now didn’t expect all these to happen. I was looking forward to putting this behind and got told that my hearing has been postponed. Wish it wasn’t true.If I got a little bit of information from IRB regarding my hearing I’d be relived. But no updates yet

You can call IRB and ask them about any updates, but dont expect to get a specific date for your next hearing on pbone.

Thanks for responding to my post.I called them a few times and they said they didn’t have any information right now. Do you know what is the maximum waiting time to get a hearing date once you submitted Your refugee claim.

there is no minimum or maximum time for it. my friend claimed on Jan 19 and his hearing just done last month after exactly 2 years.

I’m in Toronto and submitted my BOC form in April 2019. Got hearing date for November 2020 and 2dats prior to the hearing I was told by my lawyer that the hearing has been postponed still no updates.
