Hi all

I submitted pasports at VFS bangalore for me and my spouse. However they did not ask for pasport photocopies and they took only 1 copy of PPR email letter. Is that normal?

I think ppr letter for u and for ur spouse is submitted to be separately!!!

Hi all, I am from a visa exempt country Ireland. Received my PPR last Friday. Per instructions, I just have to submit a copy of my passport photo page. Not the passport itself. I can send this by mail (along with my two requested photos) or I can submit via the web portal (MyCIC). It does not, however, provide a link to how to upload on the website. Opinions welcome but if anyone has gone through this experience I'd definitely like to hear what you did.
Thanks.

Hello everyone,
I recently received a PPR with my Primary Office - CPC Ottawa. They have asked me to submit my passport to New Delhi Visa Office as I am an Indian citizen, or If I'm in Canada to the Ottawa office. But I was visiting USA on a B1 visa, so can I send it to CPC-Ottawa? How should I proceed?

I have emailed CPC-O and NDVO 3 days back with no response yet.

Any help is appreciated.

Be sure to open your first bank accounts and credit cards to begin building your credit even while out of the country and to take advantage of no fee new immigrant offers.
Is it recommended to open a bank account even if you are doing soft landing?

Yes. Opening the account gives you somewhere to wire money to when its truly time to move and you can also get a credit card which you can use and pay on time and begin to build your credit before you move so that it'll be easier for you to rent an apartment, buy a car etc etc.

But aren't there charges to maintain account in Canada?

If they've accepted it then that's how it would be. They won't make such mistake I guess.

But did you submit 2 consent forms?
And what was the transmission fees?

You can get the SIN at the airport if you land during the opening hours of service Canada but it’s no big deal to get it after as well. You don’t lose anything.

Can you please share more information on opening bank account or share a link where details are mentioned like which banks, can we do it online, what are the charges, documents required, etc.

Hi
The popular options are TD bank, BMO, RBC, Scotiabank and CIBC
Go to their webpages they all will have a new immigrant section somewhere and will tell you all that you need to bring and all their special offers.

Hello everyone,

Im currently working in Canada on closed Work permit(LMIA exempt)
I have applied for PR claiming under CEC category and have claimed the 50 points for Job offer as well. My employer has stated clearly in the Job offer letter that the Job offer will be valid one year post PR issuance.

Now, I am being transferred to USA (intra company transfer )and may not be able to return to Canada before I get my PPR .My Canada WP is expiring within a month and I have not extended it.

My questions are

1) Will my situation impact my PR processing in any way ?
2) I heard people saying that my Job offer will be invalid if I move out of Canada and dont have a valid WP. Is that true ?
3) Do I need a visitor visa after COPR to re-enter Canada in order to receive my PR?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

1) No
2) If you applied as a CEC then your job offer has to meet certain condition. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1009&top=29 If you do not meet them, then your job offer will be invalid. However, since you already have an offer, just moving out of Canada won't impact that if everything else remains the same.
3) No, your COPR will be shipped along with your passport to your residence in US. You will have to submit your passport to CPC Ottawa.
