I am in the same boat like you, one year validity left. I checked on some site if you have visa stamped you can land in Canada and then get the passport renewed in Canad itself. Once you have PR card then visa dependability is also not there.
I had send the RPRF receipt via email and then also by web form but its still not linked. Though I did received auto delivery from Delhi Immigration id that my email has been received. Does it really makes any difference if it's not linked?
