I don't think so that any Airline could stop you from boarding if you have valid visa stamped and your passport is still valid. I am pretty sure 6 months passport validity is a condition both for stamping and travelling. As we have Indian consulate in various countries where the passport could be easily renewed.

If you have a valid Immigrant Visa on a Valid Passport (less than 6 month) no one stops to go to the Country that issued that Immigrant Visa. Just have all the requirements to layover flight and stop over countries.
