1. You do not need a bank statement for PGWP application.

You dont need to show bank statement with money. All you need is a official transcript or a letter stating your graduation.

Hi sorry for the late reply. You can absolutely apply for PGWP Without bank statement even if you get any amount of scholarship! if you are applying online there is no question like bank statement so you don't need to worry about that at all!

Thanks for your kind reply.
It is a relief to hear that if you are given scholarship you dont need to show any bank statement. there are two things i would like you to reply on.
first i only have letter from my boss(research leader) that states that I will be give money for entire phd. Will it be sufficient? because boss said it will be sufficient. I just want to get an opinion from a person who already have the visa.
second, this is that I dont understand the difference between PGWP and PHD. Are they same or different? what is the difference?

1. PGWP is Post-Graduation Work Permit: You can apply to it after you get your degree. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad.asp

2. off campus work permit: You can apply to it after 6 months of your education in Canada. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-offcampus.asp
