Well...looks like the plans for strike are still on for Monday (Source: Reddit forum).
I don’t think you understand their use of rhetoric.Lol... What % of votes elect people in municipal, provincial and federal elections again?
The difference here, is not only that 35% voted, but that all kinds of games and manipulative tactics were used by the Union leadership to keep voter turnout extremely low!Lol... What % of votes elect people in municipal, provincial and federal elections again?

I wonder why? hmmm…
Even the appeal board (the authority that oversees these things) said as much!

By ensuring that only the “most ardent” workers get to cast a ballot (by placing barriers in the way), their desired outcome was guaranteed!!
Something about not missing out "strike pay" from the union but what do I know. How did you get to keep that username lolIF that was true the strike attendance would be lower rather than 96% (govt. source btw)
You do realize that workers are FORCED to join the strike or they will be punished by the union and ostracized by their coworkers right?IF that was true the strike attendance would be lower rather than 96% (govt. source btw)
You can go to Reddit and look into r/Canadapublicservants. There are 1000s of comments, but you will get a good idea of what is going on.Could you share the link?
Strike attendance means nothing! Most of those people are there for the $75 a day strike pay (which they need desperately). In fact, there are several interviews, by media, where the strikers look bored and disinterested, and some even openly expressing frustration at being there!IF that was true the strike attendance would be lower rather than 96% (govt. source btw)
If the union does reject this offer (which I would consider to be pretty magnanimous of the government - and I say this as someone who is not a fan of this government by any stretch of the imagination), then we very well could see back-to-work legislation in the next few days (provided the Conservatives are on board as well).Strike enters day 12 and today is the make or break day for union to make their final decision.
Yesterday, Canadian government clearly stated that their new offer is the final offer.
Today, the union will be deciding whether they should accept the offer and call off the strike or not.
If union accepts the government’s offer, then strike will end and employees will return to work as soon as tomorrow.
However, if union rejects the new offer, then we will see the strike dragging on to whole next week because feds will not come back with another offer sooner.

You do realize in that case there are a lot of rules related to crossing picket lines like employee can decide to be a "rand" or leave the union all together? You do realize that workers are FORCED to join the strike or they will be punished by the union and ostracized by their coworkers right?
