Hi Forum Family!!!!

Well i don't want to get too excited but my hubby's mom called me today and advised that a letter was received from the embassy!!!! She tried telling me what was on the letter but i got too excited and couldn't understand her.

This letter will be faxed to me shortly. Please pray for me and i will keep you all posted. I may need some assistance from the veterans on here with deciphering that letter :):):):)

But i think it says something about getting an updated police certificate and submitting the passport - but i can't be sure. I think that is a good sign.

OMG i'm trying not to get too excited but i've already screamed, laughed and cried. ;D ;D ;D

Cruises30,

I hope its good news indeed, updating a police clearance is nothing big, but when they ask for the passport then that means that the VISA is ready, that's what happened to my friend's wife with Kingston VO. I am so happy for you girl!!!!!!, please keep us posted. :D :D :D :D

I will definately keep you in my prayers, and everyone else wait on POS!!!!

Hi Berbician! Thank you so much.

Well i apologize for getting back to you all so late. Okay so the letter looked pretty standard. It basically said that we must provide the items that are checked marked by 60 days from the date of the letter, but sooner would be better. The only items that were check marked was to provide his passport, one passport photo and a signed declaration form that his kids will not be accompanying him. But the letter also stated that a final decision would not be made until these items are submitted.

Can i breathe easy now Forum friends??? I really want to believe this is good news!!!!

Also i really need your advice-----what is the best way to submit the passport? My husband lives in Trinidad, so should he bring the passport and photo in person at the embassy? Or mail it in? If anyone could help, we would be forever grateful.

I sure hope this is the end to a very emotional journey. Please keep us in your prayers.

Things are moving in POS and i know you all will hear something soon as well - i can feel it :)

GOD IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

He sure is all we have to do is Trust in him......

I am not sure about POS, but my friend's wife in Kingston took her passport into the office herself. Hope this helps, it took her two weeks then, the visa office called her and told her to pick up her package.

I will keep everyone posted. Have a great weekend

Wow Cruises...that's amazing. Congrats!!! ;D My husband and I sent in the same declaration form about 5 weeks ago. As far as dropping off the needed documents I would think if at all possible to take them in person.

Thanks Can4Vincy!!! Wow i didn't know you had to bring in that document too. Has your hubby been asked to submit his passport yet?

Is it a good thing when they ask for the passport as well? I mean they said a "final" decision would be made once they receive it. But my husband is coming off the cruise ship on Wednesday, quitting his job in order to surrender his passport - i sure hope this is all good news and not some bad joke!!!! :o

Any advise from the veterans would be sooooo appreciated! I haven't stopped smiling since yesterday.

Can4Vincy remember when we said what we would do when we found out good news ------ well i did it all at the office on Friday, i held back alot cuz i'm not going to do any official happy dance until my husband calls and says he has the Visa in his hands!!!!

They sent us the form and he carried it with him to the interview on the 23th of March. No request for passport yet though. At that time they had requested his background checks and hadnt got them returned, now 2 and a half weeks in process hope it will be soon. Im sure its all good and that the two of you are about done! Thats exciting...lol. Cant wait for my happy dance hahaha.

Can4Vincy, could you tell me where your hubby went to get his declaration signed? Were having trouble finding a "Commissioner of Oaths"?? The document from the embassy states it must be signed by commissioner of oaths.....

Thanks for everything!!

He had a lawyer in St. Vincent sign his....can be a minister, JP or member of parliament.

hi all,
I am trying to immigrate to canada, i'm applying under the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) category. My visa office is Port of Spain. I know this is the Family sponsored category forum just wondering if anyone knows any FSW applicants from Trinidad so I can chat and compare notes on whats going on with our category of applications. Any assistance in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Much

Thank you Onedayatatime!!! I'm trying not to jinx it or get too excited, until my hubby calls and says he has that wonderful visa!! :)

He has left his job on the ship and will be arriving home tomorrow. On Monday he is going personally to drop off his passport. So from there we patiently wait again, hopefully not too long. I'm dying to see him and can't wait to get a great big hug!!! :P :P
