Hi I know this is an old post. I am a vincy and I stumbled upon this because i`m now married to a canadian and he is filing for us and I wanted to hear from people who I can relate to. The application is in Port of spain and the status says"in process". They started processing it in port of spain the second wk of November. Any advice? How long did you guys application remained in process for?

Hello Vincymama,
Spousal sponsorship seems to take an average of 8 months via the Port of Spain Office. You can read other person's experiences if you go back a few pages. I am POS office but Quebec Skilled Worker category. All the best to you and your family.

Hi I'm wondering if anyone can give me info on recent processing times through POS office. My husband and I sent our application in the beginning of February for outland spousal sponsorship.
Also I have no clue what some of the things mean like AOR etc.
Thanks a bunch

Hello there,
I recently emailed them regarding my application for my husband. The last communication we got was in December advising that his application was sent to POS for further processing. The reply I got was they are currently working on applications submitted in July/August 2017. AOR means Acknowledgment Of Recipt. They’ll send you an email to the email provided once they’ve received the application. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Hello all, below is a link for a whats app group for Port of Spain Visa office. The purpose of the group is to share updates and general information about the process at POS visa office. When you join, you may not be able to see previous conversations (its the way whatsapp works), but you will be privy to all discussions occurring after you join. See the link below

Just an update for anyone that going through this process.
Passport was requested on October 26 at interview along with medical redo.
Medical submitted on 27th
Passport sent on the 9th via dhl and received by POS on 13th
A month later 7th of December 2017 Ecas changed to Decision made. Then
Dhl tracking went live ( shipment picked up at 2:20pm). And should be here by Monday.
Praise be to God. This process has been so long and hard for me and my family but I'm happy to say its almost over. Just to receive the package.

Anyone that's been true the landing recently have any news to give. Would be much appreciated. Thank you

Hello All,

My sister was just approved as a sponsor for me. I live in Trinidad.

Family Class Sponsorship Time Line -

Submitted App to CIC Mississauga: July 2017
Sponsorship status approved: Oct 2017
Confirmation of receipt of app by CIC Port of Spain: Oct 2017

CIC specifically states that spousal sponsorship take less then 12 months. My question is, how long will a family class sponsorship of a sister take? Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
Judo

Update :
I received a request for further documents on 29 January 2018.

Submitted all documents on 24 February 2018

ECAS changed to Decision Made on 13 April 2018

ECAS updated with message: We sent you correspondence on 23 April 2018 on the decision on your application

Is this bad news? A medical was not requested so how could they make a decision? Is the correspondence a refusal letter?

That's approx seven months. Just a bit curious , what additional proof did they need. I sent in all that I possibly could, would like to know what else to accumulate just in case the same is requested from us.
