Hi,
Did anyone have to use a courier service to send documents to the POS office (with a pre-paid return envelope), what service did you use?

I used FedEx.

Tell the local FedEx office, OR you can go DHL, or even UPS. if no office nearby, call on the phone and ask about it.

Simply you want a pre-paid envelope delivered from POS (give them the address of the consulate), to your house, (give them the address). They will say it will cost X - you pay it with whatever means necessary.

Cheers

Ryan

Any old-timers in the house?

It's been FOREVER since I've been in here.. but used to be a regular! Hubby has been in Canada now for almost 2 years and all is well!

Hope to hear from a few old friends!

Hello everyone,

Hope all is well and immigration is working out in favor for everyone going through the tedious process. Good to see this thread is still going and questions and answers are still being addressed.

As for me, I have settled well into Canadian society including becoming a Canadian citizen with my Canadian passport. Life just keeps getting better and I am certain it will be the same for each and everyone one of you in the very near future. Just hang in there.

Looking back at the days and the times I have experienced coming to Canada I can truly reflect that it was quite a life changing experience and by keeping faith and hope, things worked out in the end.

Continue to keep faith and believe in what you're going through.

Best wishes and blessings,
Confused.

I'm his representative here, should We include all the things I did as such along with the original power of attorney with the application?

Hi,
Ours started processing February (submitted December) and by August we had an interview. Right now we are waiting for COPR. The processing time is definitely shorter now. :)

Hey everyone. Quick question, how long after the file transfer does it take to hear anything from Port of Spain?

It could be a week or two for the website to be updated. When I say updated, its just the website saying POS has the app - from that point on, it's just a bunch of waiting.
and waiting..and waiting...this is where POS will be processing the application.

If there are any issues [questions, expired forms, further verification required] they will contact you (via your Lawyer [if you have a representative], OR your email).

**The following is my experience, and what I did - and my suggestions -- you do not need to follow it, nor is it a sure way - but its my way! and how I did things **
When my wife and I were doing the app, they told me it may take 3-6 months before they contact me again. Me being impatient, I contacted them every month [give or take] - for clarity you need to be smart on what you contact them about.

YOU DO NOT - Contact them and ask for their timeline, how long it will take etc... this is a no no. You will just get a snarky email or worse yet you don't want any negative attention - you don't want that.

WHAT YOU DO! - Contact them about your application process - Is there anything missing, any expire, any further questions they may have....is there any further documentation they need

Do you see the difference?

The way I see if, get in front of the 8-ball - and not behind it - when you behind it, its already too late. What i mean is, say for instance there was a delay, a missing file, question, verification, etc...by the time they get to communicating with you via letter, email, or your lawyer, it would be a week or two, or more. Why wait? If you were to randomly send and email (every month or so) and enquire you would get in front of it, maybe you would intercept, and catch one of these issues before it too late or delayed etc....

AGAIN THIS IS MY EXPERIENCE>> AND SUGGESTION - it's just a guide nor a for sure way or doing things. But at the end of the day, better be in front, than behind playing catch up, and getting ahead. Its already a up-hill battle, why make it harder.

Cheers

Hello everyone I checked online and my PR side changed from application recieved to in process. SHOULD I consider that as port of Spain has received my app? No mail yet though.

Not necessarily. Mine had switched to in process as well and they hadnt started processing yet when i sent an email in asking for confirmation of receipt. Dont worry, its a very stressful process and the waiting is hard. But just be patient and wait, they have been very efficient and they will contact you for any necessities.. goodluck

Hi all,

Oh yeah just as a mention to anyone, Fedex does not offer the service of delivering from T&T address to the Embassy in POS. We had to use DHL for that. TTPost does, but we are not sure about how reliable they are.
