Well I contacted my MP last week. When I gave my timelines he said that our file was well within normal processing times for Port of Spain. He asked a few questions pertaining to my file, then mentioned that we should be hearing from POS by the end of January. If not, he said to call back so that his office could launch an investigation.

On the flip side, he did say to prepare for a lengthy wait (well beyond 15 months) if POS requests an interview.
He also went on to say that because of POS's lengthy wait times, hubby will definately not be here for Christmas. OOUCH! Talk about a harsh reality check. . .

I have failed on those reality checks. I just let it flow now and see where it takes me.

I should talk to my mp with regards to getting back the $400 dollars that I payed for the ARC....To know that it has been approved since November and my husband is not here only to find out that his medical expired in October why the never tell me this when Then sent a letter in October requesting that I pay the resident fee. And all of sudden this so called documents got "lost" in the mail now what have to wait another two to three weeks before I even get this letter..Every time I think about it I get so upset....My husband
thought he would be with us for Christmas but when I told him yesterday he was so sad....knowing that his paper would be finalized next month so reall he did not need the ARC... Medical is so expensive out their its going to cost over $200 you even have to pay for them
to mail it then I have to come up with another $200 to send off his passport....Would you believe that it costs me about the same
as the ARC processing fees...

I chose to just not have any hopes. That way I wont be disappointed. Plus even if i got the visa thingy now it would interfere with my vacation with my hubby as we are going antigua or margarite (still to decide) for christmas and I would need my passport.

I think I have over paid CIC. The last time I checked my CAIPS, it said RPRF is LFD = Deferred .. whatever that means.

I still went ahead and paid the RPRF in May this year. I think since my immigration applications in Canada were refused they owe me landing money because I can recall paying once or twice the RPRF upon sending off those applications. Who knows, I may perhaps fight CIC and get a smooth, slick 1000 back from them. We will see once this process is over and done with.

I chose the three months option and then put the current date. Has three months been up since you received you AOR from POS?

You need to attach a copy of the original letter if it's the only thing you have from POS with your file number. I think the letter also states that you must attach the AOR as well. Be sure to keep your original AOR. As a matter of fact, if you are sending stuff to the embassy make sure you send copies and keep the originals unless otherwise stated.

At this point in the game I would really try my best to stay away from sending in additional proof unless you wish to be trapped in the long wait of processing by the office. One last thing, have you ordered your CAIPS notes? You can try ordering it through your sponsor, it's only $5 CDN and it takes about 6-8 weeks to process. It gives a clear idea about anything good, bad or ugly happening in your file providing you get a nice IO that loves to write and keep notes, not like the one I have :S

You wouldn't be in complete shit .. I am sure there are ways you can beat around the bush with it. Doesn't the reminder form have your information in it as well? Get your boo to email it to you and do like I do, keep scanned copies of all the important and unimportant parts of CIC on your puter or flash drive.

HI everyone just bumping the thread up.
this morning i am feeling like shit
a dude rear ended my car and drove off
i didnt have the energy to chase
and i just decided to let it pass and forgive him
the hassle is just too much and the police are good for nuthing

today is my company's christmas function
and i am getting an award
"team spirit'
i missed the hardworking award by 1 point.
these things are skewed anyways.

so i am dragging myself to this function
even though i dont want to go
i just am wishing mail came today.. :'(
