We submitted the FBI check after we submitted the application as there was a huge backlog from the FBI.
They are valid from the day your application is received.
If the visa office is perhaps concerned they will ask you to update it.

I would wait and see they probably won't ask for it to be updated but its a personal choice.

Anyone know how long the medical, and police check (Trinidad Cert of Char, or FBI) is valid for?

I ask, as I see a few of you had to resubmit. This concerns me as my wife's were issued 6-8 months ago.

Im wondering if we should resubmit the FBI or TT as they normally take a few months. I think TT took us 2-4 months, and FBI ugh too long.

Your thoughts...

Cheers

@CL

How long did it take from the time you submitted the FBI prints and papers til you got the results back?

I'm still not sure how long they are valid for. I cant remember it did take a few months for it to come back. The Med will take 1-2 weeks at most to be submitted by the Authorized Physician
So I don't mind submitting the FBI forms, this way even if it takes 3 months, by the time it comes I don't have to worry of a long wait till i get it, then resubmit.

hemm decision...

Thank you

Ryan

Anyone know the validity of the police clearance?

Sorry, I am not sure ... I think it's a year... but they will ask for a new one if they require it.

@ ryanr they will ask for a new one if they need it. I think it might be 6 months or a year.

My bro submitted his application to sponsor his wife from Guyana and the reply he got from them was that the application was sent to POS for processing. He did not hear back from them for about 3 to 4 months and when he did it was a letter with the appointment date and time for interview in POS, which will be next month. So there is still hope for you.

I have also read a post on the appeal thread of a woman from Guyana who was living in the US with no status and she had to go back to POS for interview and was in Guyana waiting for the decision (her post was from 2012 I believe so long time ago)

I think its better to know what you are getting into. Its better to prepare for the worst but hope for the best. I wish I had found this forum a long time ago, it would have helped with my case for sure.

Good luck to your brother...

I guess they are processing applications faster than even before...

Well their case is very straight forward. No red flags or anything. Just a very simple application.

I think Toronto/Ottawa is taking a heck of a long time compare to POS lol.

Inland and Out are two different time likes, 17 vs 34 months.

To my understanding they want Out to be completed asap to reunite Fams asap.

Atleast this is what I was told, in addition to a friend at work whose Hus is from the US, but has a open work visa in TO.

With that she's been processing since last Oct.

Cheers

Yea you never know what to expect with these people.

ryanr

I don't believe they are trying to reunite family, just because of all the horrible stories I have been reading on the appeal topic. I have given up on that a very long time ago. I am just going with the flow and see what happens next.

I don't think he did, but then again I am not 100% sure.
