Hey! good luck to you and husband at interview! Im no expert but from what Ive seen on this thread is many different things, Ive seen people get their visa the same day after interview, Ive seen people get called the next day to bring passport for visa , Ive also seen people get ppr one week, and 5 months after interview, Im not sure.. Did you order you GCMS notes to see what sparked the interview? I for sure know my wife and I will have one as we have a large age difference..
Thanks. What exactly is GCMS notes, and how do I order it?

My husband was interviewed on Thursday and we were called back on Friday to get his visa. This was an exception as he and I had tickets booked on the following Monday to return to Canada.
He had been living in the US on a temporary Green Card (just one of many red flags) but had come to Canada to stay with me for a couple of months.

Tell your husband no matter what don't get angry or upset. That is what they try to do. It is there job to make him nervous to see if he slips up. They will probably even ask if him if he got to pregnant to get into the country. They asked all kinds of terrible things. I had a miscarriage in January and they asked my husband the same thing.

Tell him just to be honest. If he doesn't know an answer just tell him to say I don't know. Never make anything up.

Tell him to stay positive and respectful. Good luck, it is scary thing to go through but once it is done it is done.

Hey everyone,

Sorry it's been a while since I've been on here (just been really busy).
Just wanted to give u guys an undated as to what going on. My husband currently has a interview on the 20th of this month (in 2 days). I'm so excited as it is getting closer for urs to reunite.

Here's our timeline :
Application received at missassauga on July 18 2015
Application transfer to port of spain on Aug 13 2015
Medicals submitted on Sept 22 2015 (upfront)
Interview : Jan.20th, 2016

Right now I'm just praying that everything goes smoothly as I have our newborn (born in November). I'm currently taking care of our son on my own. Please keep our family in ur prayers. I will definitely update you guys after the interview.

I do have a question as well. How long does it take to actually get your visa after the interview? And what is the process?

Well we don't really have many. The main one is the he was on canada before and over stayed his Vista by 5 years. At that time he didn't need a visa to come here.

Another one come be that we met 2008 but he left canada 2012. From 2012 until 2014 that was the first time I went to visit him (I was a student leaving in my parents house so I didn't have it financially and neither did he). I'm not sure to if that's a red flag. Because I didn't visit him until 2 year later.

that is why they called him for an interview - because of his overstay. I think it is a standard process when people who overstay their visa. Everything should be fine.
They will ask him all kinds of question about his overstay and may even ask if he married you and had a baby just to get back into Canada. The Visa Officers can ask some very offensive questions.

Let us know how it goes. Good luck and God bless.

All the best to you and your husband in the interview tomorrow! Remember to tell him to keep calm, smile , remember all the important dates and keep to a staright story, from what i heard is they like to tie and confuse people asking the same story from different angles, as we say in trini ''to pick yuh mouth''

Just an update everyone,

Sorry my husband just finished the interview. I wasn't there as I have our newborn in canada. On the interview letter it said they would call me, so I was prepared. He got a woman officer. He said that she was being hard on him (just like everyone said ). He also say that everything went okay the only problem was that we knew each other from 2008 but didn't have any proof of communication. Before the interview is wrote a letter saying that we had lost/changed phones and didn't keep records of the communication at that time. The only communication that we have is from 2014 till now. She also said at the end that they will contact him in a week to let him know there decision.

What do you guys think? By the way they didn't call me to interview me at all. Is that normal and should I be worried?

Try not to stress too much about it. I know that is kind of asking the impossible because I have been there myself.
I was actually at the Canadian Embassy in Trinidad with my husband and they didn't ask me any questions either. My husband had asked if they would like to speak to me and they refused. I think they only call you or speak to you if they want to verify something that is in question and they want to see if the answers are consistent.

His answer to not having communication from 2014 until now is a reasonable answer. I would delete my messages all the time and even deleted my watsapp account when we were talking. You don't realize the importance of these things until you go through the immigration process, so try not to worry about that either. We had been talking since May 2014 and only had plane tickets back and fourth and not really anything as far as chats or communication. I send in my phone bills but it didn't show much because we would facetime each other. It wasn't until we submitted our application that we realized the importance of the communication. We had 150 pages of FB chat that we actually brought to interview. Believe it or not the Visa Officer actually went through our Facebook chat messages because she asked him some questions.

Now is the hard part - interview is over and now you have to sit and wait.... Hopefully they will get back to him very quickly.

I agree. It is unfortunate but a lot of people on the forums (Kingston, Jamaica) in particular are refused even with child. It is not unheard off.

The positive is that typically the POS office is really good if you are Trinidadian. They tend to be harder on people that are not. There was a backlog of applicants in Kingston and POS was processing files for them. That is where I saw some people being refused, even though people where either pregnant or had little children. It is sad but true. :(

I am sure that is not the case here though.... Landing story and good news coming soon....
