we went to breezes curacao last year..it was really really good! :0 good for the money, however its a family oriented hotel, so lots of kiddies running around and lots of kiddy activities. I don't know if they treat same sex couples differently because I did not see same sex couples there, but its worth for you to find out.

Its a good hotel, dont take sea view cause there is construction going on and all you will see is ugly construction on the side, so garden view is better, or sea front. secondly check in at the hotel takes long (dunno why) and thirdly the main house food is the really diggy..i didnt find the italian or japenese food all dat.

Oh and for our honey moon we went to Turtle beach by rex resorts Tobago, very good price (i think its like de cheapest all inclusive in Tobago) but I dont know how they treat same sex couples and the beach was not all dat nice. so it depends on what you want to do really, if you are a beach person, this might not be for u unless you head out after lunch and return in time for dinner and night entertainment at the hotel. btw. turtles do come up on the beach at night, but i think their nesting period is over...we saw some on our honey moon! :)

Oye i forgot to mention at Turtle Beach, this is so funny...my hubby was sitting in the foyer, and i was outside...so i was just a few feet in front of two white women...so anyways i am signalling to him and asking do you want a drink?

The two white women said No thank you! LOL

Hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...i think there is this perception that all the brown people in the hotel were workers...and made me angry for a while..then i realised it wasnt worth it..

lol .... that's funny ... the bar thing, that it .. LOL

So, when we go places we don't act like a gay couple ... LOL ... even if it matters or not. We don't look femmy or act it either. We are like two normal guys, maybe a bit more on the quiet side ...... I think unless you don't work for the hotel (check in cuz we ask for a king size bed) you wouldn't know that we are a gay couple or even so ..... two guys sleeping on the same bed .... like really .... we all love to judge and most times we end up being wrong. I think it really also depends on where you go.

On our last trip to Barbados we thought that they would be so homophobic and what's not but

A. you don't see or hear of gay clubs out there
B. there were queens at the surrounding hotels
C. it's so touristy at those places for ppl to even waste their time noticing things

I guess you just have to analyze the area or region you are heading and act according to whatever observation you've made.

forgot to also mention i have been to all inclusives in
Antigua- Jolly Beach Hotel- Good too but the ticket to reach dey was plenty.
Barbados -Club Rockley-Stay away. Was more expensive that Antigua and St. Lucia and was the worse. I think Hotels in Barbados charging excessive.
St. Lucia -Club St. Lucia (but the name change now) My absolute fav! :) Great value for money.
Maragrita - Laguana Mar - Good and cheaper than all above, had casino, plenty pool all buh no beach beach
and somehow de food and me did not mix.

neat stuff :)

Sooo where did you go for your Masters and what did you do it in?

I went to UWI and did it in HRManagement. I am quite bored of it now, I told hubby that I would like an administrative job or teaching or open a business...(i think i could sell doubles in toronto..lol). Whatever I chose, it would be low key because my main focus is getting acclimatize, making child and keeping home for hubby. I have realised that working all day and stressing is just not how i want to live the rest of my life. I rather a smaller pay and more free time for hobbies and family. I worked with some Canadian consultants recently and they were really disappointed in my desire to just do something simple...but having no hubby with me realities how sad my life is...going to work every day and just coming home late and eating (i doh even know how to cook!) coming on here and then sleeping. Puts a new perspective on things.

I see ........... I had a choice to go to UWI to finish off my degree but the campus I would have had to go to was at Mona, Jamaica. I wasn't too pleased and I thought that it would be a waste of time and money and I didn't want to exchange my Cdn education for UWI. I would rather get my Cdn degree instead. And Jamaica ... ha ha ha .... I am more afraid of going to Jamaica for anything more so studying for 1-2 years.

I have one more year to finish at UofT for my undergrad. I am planning on pursuing a Masters right after as well but I am still undecided on what I want to do it in. I am originally an Environmental Scientist and a Geographer by education but I hate doing math and calculations and I also need to do a Masters that will take minimum a year to complete. Sooo many decisions to make I tell you.

As per the career thing, we are very comfortable with where we are in terms of our finances. He wants for me to find a job where there is flexibility so we can travel 2-3x a year whenever we feel like it. That being said, I think teaching will be out of question now cuz I will only be able to fly during Xmas, March or Summer breaks. We just want something where I can bring it about a 40 or over to make our combined very comfortable. The more is always the merrier ;)

Aside from all that, we are pretty much established in our lives. I just need to finish off my darn education, find a career and work on spending our lives happily. Maybe adopt a few unfortunate little souls or help out the unfortunate little souls in my family.

well thats great!!!!! :) i was looking at about 40 myself!

I'm still so disappointed. I'm over 5months and still no AOR from the world most fucking slowest visa office.........

I filled out an enquiry last week on my file. The email from CIC stated that I would hear from the POS office in 28 days!!!!!!!!! (And thats only if POS felt my enquiry was worth responding to). :'( :'( :'(

Good luck girl.. It ain't an easy situation at all. To whom did you email exactly? Cause I know POS does not respond to emails.

thats not been my experience, i emailed them a couple of times and they responded like the day after.
it was the normal email they have posted in the web for immigration.

Just take a few minutes and breathe Hun ... you will be fine .....

I'd love to hear about that Post Office encounter ;)

Confused: you were right, my husband just got an email from POS, apparently my interview will be in Guyana and not trinidad. I don't understand these people, in an earlier email, they said we can choose the location but now they have fixed it for georgetown. They also mentioned that they have recieved the police clearance but did mention anything about redoing one even though it will be expired by the time I get to the interview.
